This is a senior technical position focused on architecting, designing, and delivering highly scalable, resilient, and innovative microservices-based solutions. While your primary influence will be on the backend architecture and strategy, you will also provide technical guidance on UI component development using Angular. If you are a passionate technologist with a proven track record of driving complex projects, mentoring engineers, and setting technical direction in a collaborative environment, we want to hear from you!
What you will do
+ Architect and Lead: Design, develop, and lead the implementation of complex, high-performance, and secure microservices using .NET/C# or Java. Drive technical strategy and roadmap for critical systems.
+ Technical Excellence & Mentorship: Champion best practices in software engineering, including design patterns, code quality, testing, and operational excellence. Mentor and coach other engineers, fostering a culture of technical growth and innovation.
+ System-Wide Impact: Collaborate with principal engineers, product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to define system architecture, identify technical priorities, and ensure alignment with business goals.
+ Advanced Messaging & Cloud Solutions: Architect and implement sophisticated solutions leveraging messaging systems like Kafka, NServiceBus, or RabbitMQ. Design and optimize for cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP), ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
+ Data Architecture & Optimization: Provide expert guidance on database design ( SQL Server, Postgres) and data warehousing strategies ( Snowflake), focusing on performance, scalability, and data integrity.
+ UI Technical Guidance: While not the primary focus, provide architectural oversight and technical guidance for the development of UI components using Angular; leverage experience with React to inform broader front-end strategies.
+ Search & Analytics Expertise: Design and implement robust solutions utilizing Elasticsearch for advanced logging, monitoring, distributed tracing, and complex search functionalities.
+ Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead technical discussions, drive consensus, and represent engineering in cross-functional planning and decision-making forums.
+ Innovation & Emerging Technologies: Evaluate and champion the adoption of new technologies and methodologies, such as gRPC and Akka.net, to enhance our platform's capabilities.
+ Operational Stewardship: Take ownership of the operational health and performance of the systems you build, including proactive monitoring, incident response, and root cause analysis.
Required Qualifications
+ 8+ years of progressive experience in software development, with a significant focus on backend systems and distributed architectures.
+ Deep expertise in .NET/C# OR Java, with a proven ability to design and deliver complex, scalable applications.
+ Extensive experience in architecting, building, and deploying microservices in a production environment.
+ Advanced proficiency with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), including infrastructure-as-code, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless architectures.
+ In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with enterprise messaging systems such as Kafka, NServiceBus, or RabbitMQ.
+ Strong architectural and development skills with relational databases like SQL Server or Postgres, and data warehousing solutions like Snowflake.
+ Demonstrable experience with front-end development, particularly Angular, and a solid understanding of modern front-end principles. Familiarity with React is beneficial.
+ Expertise in leveraging Elasticsearch (or similar) for complex search, logging, and analytics.
+ Proven ability to lead technical projects, mentor engineers, and influence technical direction.
+ Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
