Windham Golf Club is seeking team-oriented members to join our expanding golf course maintenance team. The groundskeeper position assists the course maintenance staff in day-to-day operations, performs daily course maintenance responsibilities to a high level and incorporates safe work practices in job performance. The potential candidates would be capable of following instructions as given and would adopt the “culture” of the department in behavior, work ethic and appearance.

Windham Golf Club is an 18-hole semi-private golf club located in the Catskill Mountain region of New York. The golf club is part of the expanding Windham Mountain Club. The membership amenities are vast; not only an 18-hole golf course, but we also possess a driving range, ski mountain, gym, spa and dining outlets. We are located 2.5 hours north of NYC and 45 minutes south of Albany.

Job Duties: The list below best represents many of the tasks you will be asked to perform. It is not intended to represent all of the tasks you may be asked to perform.

+ Responsible for cutting grass on various surface types, utilizing an assortment of mowers

+ Bunker raking

+ Cart path repair

+ Golf course setup: moving tee markers, tending to course accessories, etc.

+ Assist with irrigation repairs

+ Utilize appropriate landscaping tools and equipment such as rakes, trimmers, pruners, blowers, etc. to clean and maintain the golf course, parking lots, and walkways

+ Assist with plant protectant applications as needed

+ Performs other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

+ High school diploma or GED preferred.

+ Previous groundskeeping experience preferred.

+ Basic understanding of the game of golf, or willingness to learn.

+ Excellent attendance and punctuality.

+ Must be comfortable using power tools and lawn equipment, including tractors.

+ Able to understand and follow written and verbal directions thoroughly and accurately.

+ Must be comfortable interacting with both staff and guests in a friendly and helpful manner.

+ Willingness to work in a variety of outdoor environments, including adverse weather.

+ Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and/or pull objects up to 50 pounds.

+ Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl regularly and remain standing for an entire work shift.

Work Schedule and Conditions: Full and Part time positions currently available. Traditionally, our busy periods are during weekends and holidays which you will be expected to work. You can also expect to be asked to work extra hours or days on occasion.
