    Brand Manager, Equity

     

    Reporting to the Director of Equity and Communications, the Brand Manager is responsible for driving brand awareness and leading commercial marketing initiatives across the Core Perfect Snacks portfolio. This role supports the development of strategic communications and oversees key projects including brand renovations, visual identity enhancements, and packaging design optimizations. The Brand Manager analyzes brand performance, market trends, and competitive activity to shape effective brand strategies, while managing the marketing budget to ensure alignment with financial and strategic objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + **Lead** **Core Perfect Snacks Portfolio** **–** Drive growth across the Core Perfect Snacks portfolio through strategic product renovations and communications support, inclusive of overseeing packaging design initiatives that enhance brand equity. Serve as the marketing lead throughout the commercialization stage gate process. Develop clear briefs for the Creative team and external agencies, gathering feedback, and securing all necessary approvals. Utilize consumer testing to validate design concepts and collaborate closely with Legal and Regulatory teams to ensure compliance. Maintain strong alignment with PCM through regular touchpoints, ensuring timely completion of marketing milestones.

    + **Communication/Creative Development & Awareness Media Performance** – Support the Director of Equity and Communications in developing high-impact, awareness-driven campaigns. This includes briefing the internal creative team, reviewing content prior to release, and preparing comprehensive commercialization packages. Optimize the paid media strategy, owning the media trafficking process end to end—overseeing agency relationship, managing asset input, leading copywriting, and collaborating with the Social Media and Influencer Managers to ensure timely creative refreshes. Continuously monitor paid media performance, identifying creative fatigue or underperformance and recommending optimizations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of media best practices, analyze competitive trends, and coordinate learning sessions with media partners in collaboration with our media agency.

    + **Strategic Analytics** – Serve as the marketing expert on brand, competition, category, and consumer insights by (1) conducting regular analyses and synthesizing key findings on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, and (2) creating a suite of user-friendly reports for the broader marketing team. Lead consumption inputs for marketing department. Oversee KPI & ROI reporting across the paid, owned, and earned media ecosystem, collaborating with marketing peers for input and distributing quarterly KPI reports to the marketing organization.

    + **Budget** – Oversee marketing budget tracker, inclusive of tracking and reconciling monthly budgets to ensure accurate financial reporting. Support annual planning & JF/SF rephasing by proactively communicating milestones and deliverables to key stakeholders, facilitating timely task completion. Foster strong relationships with cross-functional partners in finance and marketing, elevating issues and proposing recommendations as needed.

    Key Competencies:

    + Strong grasp of brand architecture and portfolio management.

    + Excellent understanding of a brand’s communications ecosystem, and how all the touchpoints work together to drive awareness and equity.

    + Demonstrate outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong sense of data synthesis.

    + Strong understanding of the paid media landscape.

    + Excellent working knowledge of the competitive landscape, especially small to mid-scale food CPG brands.

    + Exceptional collaborator with a keen sense of building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This role will oversee key agency partnerships.

    + Exceptional aesthetic judgment with a strong attention to detail.

    + Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

    + Ability to adapt and pivot swiftly.

    + Master of multitasking with a keen sense of organization.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree in a related field such Marketing, PR, Advertising. Passion for CPG industry.

    + 7+ years of brand marketing experience in food, beverage, beauty, or health & wellness brands

    + Previous experience contributing to paid media plans

    + Knowledge and experience of managing a P&L

    + Experience managing packaging design, inclusive of strong project management

    + Experience managing paid media initiatives, inclusive of tactically executing media plans

    + Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Based in San Diego, CA

    + Remote, USA

     

    The base salary range for this position is $117,400 to $161,425; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
