Job Description:
A Brief OverviewProvides support to the Surgical Team in the following ways: transports pre and post procedural patients, provide retraction in surgical procedures, assist in case cart readiness, room turnover, stock needed supplies throughout the department, transport specimens and blood products, monitoring of outdates, quality checks within department. Supports in the provision of high-quality care to surgical patients.What you will do
+ Assure each operating room has the correct case cart, supplies, and instrumentation.
+ Maintain par levels of supplies in operating rooms and ancillary areas. Verify outdates.
+ Assist with OR room preparation.
+ Assist OR staff with room turnover.
+ Recognize and maintain sterility while in a retracting role.
+ Safely identifies inpatient surgical patients and assure timely arrival to Surgical Services.
+ Transport patients using a patient bed or stretcher.
+ Transport blood products and specimens.
+ Storage, use, and safe handling of gas cylinders.
+ Order and distribute linen.
+ Monitors temperatures of fluid warmers, eye wash stations and other quality measures.
+ Participates in GI scope reprocessing. (FM & HCHC)
Qualifications
+ H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
+ Prefer Medical Terminology Preferred
+ Prefer previous experience in the medical field Preferred
+ Prefer Computer experience Preferred
+ Demonstrates knowledge and ensures competency and comprehension of all regulatory standards.
+ Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
+ Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures and strategies to promote safety and security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and company.
+ Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
+ The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
+ The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
+ The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
+ Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
+ Actively looking for ways to help people.
+ Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
+ Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.
+ Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
+ The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
