RN Staff Nurse - Full-Time
7am-3pm
Pay Rate - Starting at $35.00/hourly
The RN Staff Nurse is responsible for resident care activities under the direction of nursing leadership.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
+ Exhibit knowledge and proper application of established policies and procedures.
+ Provide information for the development of nursing care plans.
+ Observe and monitor residents’ health status and communicate significant findings to the RN leadership on the unit.
+ Safely perform therapeutic and preventative nursing procedures and treatments under the direction of leadership on the unit.
+ Follow established care plan.
+ Participate in quality assurance programs and infection prevention as required.
+ Assist with supervision and direction of non-professional nursing staff under direction of Professional Registered Nurse leadership on all shifts. follow resident plan of care
+ Be familiar and accountable for all medication policies and procedures.
+ Administer medication per policy and procedure.
+ Reorder medication per the pharmacy procedures.
+ Exhibit knowledge of desired/untoward effects of administered medications.
+ Observe residents for reaction to medications reporting and documenting effectiveness.
+ Follow established documentation procedures.
+ Complete exception report, bowel record at the end of shift and hand off any pending issues.
+ Be familiar with documentation requirements specific to MDS and resident needs.
+ Utilize supplies in a cost-effective manner. Monitor usage regularly.
+ Report unsafe conditions to the Professional Registered Nurse leader in a timely manner.
+ Document all incidents/accidents per policy.
+ Be familiar with established emergency procedures.
+ Be courteous and polite to all encountered.
+ Address residents by name
+ Respond to resident needs as soon as possible.
+ Refer issues/problems to Nurse Manager/supervisor or designee.
+ Assist with orientation of new nurses on the unit.
+ Report off to other team leader or nursing leadership when leaving the unit.
+ Ensure residents get to scheduled activities/therapy on time.
+ Floating to aid staffing need within the nursing department as needed.
+ Follow dress code per facility policies.
+ Provide assistant to co-workers as needed.
+ Answering call lights/unit phone in unit secretary absence.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Current NY state Registered Nurse license.
+ Minimum one year clinical experience, preferably in gerontology.
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills.
+ Must have effective social and communication skills, need to be flexible and willing to adapt to change.
+ Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and the general public.
+ Adult CPR Certified.
