• Entry Level Designer

    Actalent (Akron, OH)


    Actively seeking a entry level designer to perform detailed design work, including the preparation of drawings, specifications, and estimates for review and approval by the responsible engineer. This is a great chance for someone with minimal relevant experience to learn new marketable skills within a stable industry.

    Responsibilities

    + Prepare manual or computer-assisted design and construction drawings of a complex nature with neatness and a minimum of errors.

    + Perform design services requiring a full understanding of drawings, specifications, and industry standards covering the assigned work.

    + Take a role in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions.

    + Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations.

    + Coordinate equipment deliveries and design development to meet project schedules.

    + Acquire on-site field data to accomplish the design or to monitor and evaluate equipment performance.

    + Ability to learn new skills within Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, Protective Relaying, Transmission Design, Substation Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Distribution Engineering, Surveying, GIS and Mapping, and CADD.

    Job Requirements

    + Associate Degree or Bachelors degree in CAD Drafting/Design/Environmental/GIS, etc discipline and 0-1 years of relevant experience are highly preferred

    + Demonstrated leadership and technical capability to learn and perform job duties and responsibilities

    + Relevant experience and/or knowledge in design and construction

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
