Job Title: Fence Installer

Job Description

As a fence installer, you will play a crucial role in preparing sites for installation by clearing the ground, removing old fences, and marking fence lines. You will also dig holes and trenches to set the foundation for fence posts and other materials, and transport materials to and from the worksite. Additionally, you will assist in assembling fence components by joining, raising, and securing segments of the fence, as well as performing maintenance and repairs on existing fences. Ensuring the worksite is clean and free from debris after installation is also a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

+ Assist in site preparation by clearing ground and removing old fences.

+ Mark fence lines accurately.

+ Dig holes and trenches for fence posts.

+ Transport fencing materials and equipment to and from the worksite.

+ Assemble and secure fence components.

+ Perform maintenance and repair work on existing fences.

+ Ensure the worksite is clean and free from debris after installation.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in using hand and power tools.

+ Basic understanding of construction principles.

+ Capability to operate tools safely.

+ Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with construction labor and general labor tasks.

+ Ability to operate saws and tape measures accurately.

+ Possession of OSHA 10 certification is beneficial.

Work Environment

This role requires working primarily outdoors in residential, commercial, or industrial areas, often in varying weather conditions such as extreme heat, cold, rain, or snow. It involves manual labor, including lifting heavy materials, digging, and standing for long periods. Safety is a priority, and proper safety gear, such as gloves, boots, and protective eyewear, is essential. You will be part of a team, working closely with other laborers and supervisors to complete projects efficiently.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Lancaster, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
