    Product Engineer

    Job Description

    The Product Engineer will research, develop, formulate, and manufacture gun propellants, including single-base, double-base, triple-base, nitramine, and extruded propellants. This role involves performing engineering calculations that support process design, equipment configuration, and process condition establishment decisions, analyzing existing or planned equipment and processes for optimization, changes, and maintenance, and collaborating effectively with stakeholders.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct research and development of gun propellants.

    + Manufacture single-base, double-base, triple-base, nitramine, and extruded propellants.

    + Perform engineering duties to support material and end-item production.

    + Conduct engineering calculations for process design and equipment configuration.

    + Analyze equipment and processes for optimization, changes, and maintenance.

    + Perform market research and collaborate with procurement to obtain necessary equipment.

    + Prepare, review, and edit technical documentation including SOPs, equipment drawings, and P&IDs.

    + Perform engineering, safety, and quality control analyses.

    + Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

    + Lead and manage cross-functional teams for process optimization.

    + Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant field.

    + Minimum of 3 years of experience in gun propellant formulation, manufacturing, or R&D.

    + Hands-on experience in chemical and mechanical engineering.

    + Leadership experience in managing teams and projects.

    + Strong problem-solving skills.

    + Excellent organizational and planning skills.

    + Strong interpersonal skills and self-motivation.

    + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

    + Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.

    + Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.

    + Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is onsite at Indian Head, requiring a commitment of 5 days per week. The position demands adaptability to changing priorities and a focus on meticulous attention to detail, ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
