Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
We're seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembler to join our dynamic team in a job shop environment. This role involves mechanical assembly, drilling, tapping, riveting, and additional sheet metal assembly duties. You will work independently using complex blueprints and basic hand and air tools, while also collaborating effectively with the team. You will perform quality inspections using tools to measure tolerances prior to assembly. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.
Responsibilities
+ Perform mechanical assembly, drilling, tapping, and riveting tasks.
+ Conduct quality inspections using tools to measure tolerances.
+ Work independently off complex blueprints using basic hand and air tools.
+ Collaborate effectively with the team in a job shop environment.
+ Maintain high standards of assembly for products heading to military customers.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience in mechanical assembly within a job shop environment.
+ 3+ years of experience working straight off blueprints or customer-specific prints.
+ 3+ years of experience with basic hand and air tools.
+ 1+ year experience using quality inspection tools, such as calipers.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 6+ months experience with riveting, helix coils, drilling, tapping, or sheet metal assembly.
+ 1+ year working with decimals for measuring tolerances.
Work Environment
The work environment includes various divisions such as machining, quality inspection, assembly, sheet metal, and welding. Assemblers primarily work in the assembly and sheet metal departments, which are clean due to the military specifications of the products. The assembly department is situated between the machining and sheet metal/weld shop. Parts vary in size, from the size of a fist to 6x4x4 feet in volume. The facility is ITAR certified, requiring U.S. citizenship or permanent residency for entry.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
