Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Maintenance Technicians perform a variety of activities to maintain plant equipment and facilities in optimum operating condition. These activities include scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency/breakdown repairs.

Responsibilities

+ Perform preventive maintenance activities such as lubricating, measuring wear, measuring positions, repositioning components, and observing operations, vibrations, and noise levels.

+ Perform emergency/breakdown maintenance as necessary to support plant operations.

+ Reference equipment manuals and other technical literature.

+ Contact and work with vendors and subcontractors to achieve desired results.

+ Accurately use measurement and test equipment.

+ Perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam system, and other repairs and installations as needed.

+ Safely operate the boiler, and maintain adequate operating steam pressure (> 180 PSI).

+ Maintain clean and organized work areas, and clean up work areas as part of completing assigned tasks.

+ Accurately and completely prepare and maintain maintenance records and other paperwork.

+ Troubleshoot and solve problems.

+ Maintain teamwork with other associates.

+ Keep supervision informed of problems and/or unusual situations.

+ Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Essential Skills

+ Electrical troubleshooting and maintenance.

+ Mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance.

+ Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.

+ Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and blueprints, including German prints.

+ PLC troubleshooting and control.

+ Experience working with 480 volt systems.

+ Experience with Frequency Drives (VFDs).

+ Installation and repair of conveyors and motors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 5 plus years of experience in maintenance roles.

+ Ability to perform duties with or without accommodation.

+ Ability to read, write, and speak English.

+ Ability to accurately use and read a variety of measuring devices.

+ Well-rounded electrical, mechanical, and machine shop skills and experience.

+ Ability to learn, follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a non-climate controlled facility, meaning it will be warm in spring and summer, and cool in fall and winter. The plant operates a single corrugated machine/line, which is very large and may have old schematics. The maintenance team consists of 8 technicians working in pairs, combining mechanical and electrical expertise. The role involves working the 2-2-3 schedule on the 3rd shift (6:00pm - 6:00am). Expect to work in conditions that can be dirty, requiring a willingness to get hands-on with equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Crawfordsville, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $67746.00 - $67746.00/yr.

Pay increases once you are checked off on current machine

Tech 1- $32.57 throught tech 5 -$39
