Job Title: Occupational TherapistJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide social work services to students, which includes conducting psychosocial assessments and offering treatment and interventions. The role involves individual and group therapy, case management, and family support when necessary. The therapist will participate in interdisciplinary school committees and ensure proper documentation following departmental guidelines.
Responsibilities
+ Screen, evaluate, and treat students based on referrals from parents, teachers, or physicians.
+ Educate parents, caretakers, and staff in student care and design home programs as applicable.
+ Prepare written documentation including annual IEPs, quarterly reports, daily log notes, billing sheets, and related service provider logs.
+ Effectively function within an interdisciplinary team, advocating for client needs and participating actively in team plans.
+ Supervise fieldwork students (Level I and II), aides, and volunteers.
+ Assist in the care and maintenance of therapy department equipment and supplies.
+ Participate in and support departmental activities, including in-services and peer reviews.
+ Provide appropriate documentation for IEPs, progress notes, and psychosocial assessments.
+ Support the team in developing Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavioral Intervention Plans.
+ Demonstrate competent crisis management with necessary follow-up and documentation.
Essential Skills
+ Hold or be eligible for a Maryland Board State License (at least pending).
+ Completed externship.
+ Experience in pediatric and adolescent clinical care, particularly with disabilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in occupational health.
+ Strong skills in patient care and management.
Work Environment
This role involves working with students with disabilities from K-12, approximately 20 hours a week to start, with the potential for an increase as the program develops. Work hours are typically Monday through Friday, 7:45 am to around 4:00 pm, with half days on Wednesdays. The position offers extensive growth opportunities and family support through benefits.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $74000.00 - $101500.00/yr.
