    Job Title: Systems Specialist - NJJob Description

     

    We are seeking a Systems Specialist to start up, commission, and re-commission customer systems utilizing DDC technology. The ideal candidate will provide solutions to mid-level systems problems, work with subcontractors and other trades, and deliver turnkey project solutions for small projects. This role involves completing all required commissioning documentation, maintaining accurate As-Built drawing packages, performing static commissioning of software programming, and conducting site-specific training for owners/operators.

    Responsibilities

    + Start up, commission, and re-commission customer systems using DDC technology.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve mid-level systems problems, or assist others in resolving them.

    + Work with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper system operation.

    + Deliver turnkey project solutions for small projects (80 or fewer budgeted hours).

    + Handle unitary systems (VAV/FPB/FCU), small AHUs, basic CW/HW systems, and front-end systems.

    + Complete all required commissioning documentation and maintain accurate As-Built drawing packages.

    + Submit paperwork on time, including time sheets, expense reports, work orders, on-site documentation, and project status reports.

    + Ensure total system operation from controllers to sensors, including software loading, trend setup, alarms, and reports.

    + Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment such as multi-meters, network terminals, and laptops.

    + Perform mid-level static commissioning of software programming.

    + Conduct site-specific training for owners/operators on the total system.

    + Set up operator workstations with all associated software.

    + Perform job database backups daily or as advised.

    + Assist with project turnover to the Service Department.

    + Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site.

    + Track and record personal job progress and keep the Project Manager informed.

    + Review customer systems and address areas of improvement and scope issues to the Project Manager.

    + Maintain a daily log of pertinent job-related activities.

    + Adhere to safety standards with a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.

    + Possess computer and networking skills to maintain laptops and mobile devices.

    + Understand the operation and control of mechanical equipment and their control sequences.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s Degree in building HVAC with a focus on building automation controls (3- or 4-year program).

    + Field experience and understanding of the installation and operation of Automated Logic Controls.

    + Ability to understand and navigate third-party control systems and integrations.

    + Experience with Automated Logic and Phoenix software, including WebCtrl, SiteBuilder, ViewBuilder, LogicBuilder, InterOp 3.02, Alert, Draw, EDB, Eikon, Supervision, and Accel Works.

    + Experience handling multiple simultaneous challenges across different disciplines.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + HVAC, TCP/IP, computer, electrical, technician, installation, commissioning, building automation systems.

    + Troubleshooting, field service, HVAC, fieldwork, customer service, mechanical, automation.

    Work Environment

    The territory for this position covers NY and NJ. Candidates will drive their own vehicles and be reimbursed for daily expenses such as tolls and mileage (up to 56 miles/day). Candidates do not need to report to Clifton daily and can go directly to job sites from their homes. Reimbursement is provided for out-of-pocket expenses including parking and tolls. Upon transitioning to a full-time employee, benefits include a company car, EZ pass, and company credit card. Candidates must be able to climb ladders and lift items up to 50 lbs. Typical work hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The position involves various projects along the 78 corridor, with work extending to areas like Princeton and Asbury Park. No on-call shifts are required in the install group, but there are opportunities for overtime.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
