Role Overview
The Assistant Project Controls Specialist will support various aspects of project controls and reporting, including cost control, scheduling, progress tracking, and change management. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in scheduling and project controls to grow within a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
+ Assist with project setup in Enterprise Planning & Controls software.
+ Maintain data logs and generate reports.
+ Support the creation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
+ Help develop and maintain cost reports, schedules, forecasts, and cash flows for small projects.
+ Review and approve purchase orders and subcontracts for proper coding.
+ Track and document changes in cost reports and forecasts.
+ Assist with change order processes (both upstream and downstream).
+ Contribute to the development of project schedules and logic ties.
+ Support resource loading and earned value management systems.
+ Perform quality checks and field audits to ensure reporting accuracy.
+ Comply with all company policies and standards.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
+ Very experienced in scheduling (100% scheduling-focused role).
+ Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 preferred.
+ Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
+ OSHA 10-hour safety certification (or ability to obtain).
Education & Experience Requirements:
+ High School Diploma + 4–7 years of relevant project controls experience
+ Associate Degree + 2–5 years of relevant experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 0–3 years of relevant experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree in an unrelated field + 1–4 years of relevant experience
+ (Internships do not count toward experience requirements)
Preferred Skills
+ Experience with cost control and project controls tools.
+ Familiarity with earned value management and scheduling reports.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $36.00/hr.
