Responsibilities

+ Lead mechanical design engineering for inertial navigation systems and/or mission computers, including support for existing product lines.

+ Create innovative designs ensuring high producibility at minimal unit cost.

+ Support root cause analysis and swift resolution of manufacturing line stops and other critical production activities.

+ Collaborate with other engineering organizations, program management, factory operations, the global supply chain, and Mission Assurance teams.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with five or more years of applicable experience OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with three or more years of applicable experience OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 1 year of applicable experience.

+ Expertise with mechanical CAD software; Siemens NX preferred.

+ Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT), drawing creation, and tolerance stack-up analysis.

+ Good presentation and writing/communication skills.

+ Experience mentoring junior level engineers.

+ Active DoD Secret or higher clearance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Proficiency with Siemens NX CAD software and Teamcenter PLM software.

+ Expert-level proficiency with GDT per Y14.5 standards.

+ Familiarity with additional engineering standards.

+ Understanding of stress principles and component sizing.

+ Creative problem-solving skills and self-motivation.

+ Experience working in a team environment and handling pressure with short turn-around requests.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment

This position requires presence on-site in Woodland Hills, CA, with a 9/80 schedule allowing for every other Friday off. The role involves less than 10% travel and requires a Secret clearance. Enjoy working on innovative projects within the Sentinel program, with potential relocation assistance available.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr.
