    Job Title: Lay Up Technician

    Job Description

    The Lay Up Technician plays a crucial role in the production process, using prepared acrylic to laminate clean, inclusion-free windows. This position requires attention to detail and a strong understanding of composite materials.

    Responsibilities

    + Measure and cut vinyl according to specifications.

    + Prepare vinyl by vacuuming to remove dust or lint particles.

    + Tape and apply breather cloth to edges of the window.

    + Fill out paperwork per work order and ensure it is ready for transfer to the bagging area.

    + Seek guidance and direction for performance duties as necessary.

    + Keep the supervisor or manager informed about the status of work and any problems or potential issues.

    + Report to work on time each day and after lunch, without leaving early.

    + Maintain a neat and orderly work area.

    + Maintain a well-groomed appearance appropriate for the position.

    + Respect the confidentiality of company, customer, and personnel information.

    + Perform other duties and tasks as assigned, including machining and assembly.

    + Assist and train fellow employees as needed.

    Essential Skills

    + Ability to stand and walk constantly for 7 to 9 hours a day.

    + Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.

    + Ability to frequently push 100 lb forming tables for 4 to 5 hours a day.

    + Ability to frequently bend and stoop for 4 to 6 hours a day.

    + Ability to occasionally kneel for 5 to 6 hours a day.

    + Clear communication skills.

    + Proficiency in pinching and gripping various tools with fingers and hands using pushing and pulling motions for 7 to 9 hours a day.

    + Ability to read close tolerance measuring devices.

    + Understanding and following verbal and written work orders, process specs, and instructions.

    + Problem-solving and decision-making skills to inspect and identify components meeting quality requirements for laminating acrylic.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

    + Minimum 6 months of experience preferred.

    + 1+ years' experience in composites layup required.

    + Attention to detail.

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
