Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to ensure our machines operate efficiently and meet production levels. You will be responsible for performing daily walk downs, completing machine and line changeovers, and conducting first piece quality checks with the supervision of Quality Control personnel. The role involves preparing the in-house computer system during changeover processes and maintaining proper paperwork, logs, and records. You will also make complete machine changeovers and calibrations independently and work closely with management to process new products and materials.
Responsibilities
+ Perform daily walk downs to ensure machines are operating efficiently.
+ Complete machine/line changeovers to maintain production schedules.
+ Assist Quality Control with first piece quality checks and documentation.
+ Prepare computer systems with proper codes during changeovers.
+ Maintain records such as work orders, machine problems, and settings.
+ Make complete machine changeovers and calibrations without assistance.
+ Collaborate with management on processing new products and materials.
+ Ensure proper levels of materials are introduced to the process.
+ Order and maintain inventory for processing equipment.
+ Troubleshoot equipment for processing issues.
+ Perform housekeeping duties during machine set-up.
+ Fill in for other roles such as Supervisors or Mechanics as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Troubleshooting and industrial skills
+ Experience in hydraulics and mechanical repair
+ Machine set up and preventative maintenance
+ Ability to troubleshoot wiring and blow molding issues
+ Experience in the plastics industry (5+ years)
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience as a Plastics and/or Process Technician is a plus.
+ Comprehensive mechanical tools are required.
+ Basic mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical skills are necessary.
+ Sipa, 1Blow, and/or Sidel experience is an advantage.

Work Environment
Our work environment includes exposure to both indoor and outdoor conditions, with potential exposure to extreme heat, noise, vibrations, and moving mechanical parts. Safety is a priority, requiring steel-toed shoes, hair nets, and jeans as part of the dress code. The maintenance team comprises approximately 15 people within a plant of about 110 employees. You will work from 2:30 PM to 11 PM, Monday to Friday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hagerstown, Maryland.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $34.00/hr.
