We value the culture of diversity and professionalism in the workplace, and strongly believe that our workforce should reflect our community. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FM68GFV Purpose of the Job: * Competently serve as primary contact and liaison with members of the State Employees’ Retirement System (“MSERS”), thegeneral public, outside agencies and staff of the State Retirement Board. * Provide initial customer service and general supportfor members of MSERS through the Board’s Call Center. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: * Work full-time in the office Monday throughFriday; * Fully address, or properly direct all telephone, electronic, mailed, or in-personinquiries from MSERS members and related individuals to properpersonnel; * Properly greet,assistand assign toappropriate staffall visitors as necessaryat the Board’s Boston office: * Accurately andtimelyrespond to all incoming phone calls and e-mail asappropriate; * Competently function as part of Retirement Board Call Centerteam; * Maintain working knowledge of each department withinBoard; * Develop ability to understand and explain to members the procedures of eachdepartment related to applicabletransactions; * Provide support andassistanceto the various departments within theRetirement Board asneeded; * Whenappropriate, direct members to related agencies forassistancesuch asthe Massachusetts GroupInsurance Commission, United States Social * Security Administration, PERAC, and other local retirementsystems; * Participate andassistin Board special projects asneeded; * Developproficiencywith MARIS and OnBaseSystems; * Adhere to and enforce Treasury and Board policies. Other Duties and Responsibilities: * Distribute information requested by the members related to retirementaccounts; * Correspond with active members and retirees on all aspects of retirement,including, letters for balances and pensionverifications; * Maintain a high levelof customer service at alltimes; * Research member requests and provide responses as necessary * Maintain statistical data regardingtelephone and in-person interactionsbetween MSERS members and Board staff. * Other duties as assigned. * Travel as required *Supervisory Responsibilities:* * N/A Knowledge and Skills: * Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks. * Current advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Windowsrequired including the ability to execute mail merge projects. * Current working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat products * Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skillsrequired. * Ability to develop working knowledge of MARIS and OnBase, RetirementBoard’s computer systems. * Ability to develop working knowledge of M.G.L.
