    Requirements

    Summary:

    Provides professional nursing care to on-site employees. Treats occupational injuries and illnesses, referring patients to emergency care facilities or outside medical resources as needed. Performs pre-employment physical examinations, including vision and hearing screenings, blood work, and other related tests. Oversees occupational health and promotes employee well-being while actively supporting safety initiatives as a member of the EHS team. This position is responsible for driving employee health and wellness efforts, assisting in safety program execution, and helping maintain compliance with occupational health regulations and internal safety expectations.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Lead all Occupational Health initiatives, including case management, return-to-work coordination, and employee wellness activities.

    + Support daily safety efforts across the plant in coordination with EHS teammates.

    + Participate in safety observations, audits, and incident investigations when needed.

    + Perform or coordinate physical assessments, pre-employment, position change and functional capacity evaluations in compliance with company policy.

    + Conduct and coordinate OSHA-required medical surveillance screenings, including hearing (audiometric), vision, and respiratory evaluations.

    + Perform or coordinate pre-employment, reasonable suspicion and post-incident drug and alcohol testing in compliance with company policy.

    + Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and company policy.

    + May be responsible for administering flu vaccinations, workers' compensation, disability, and/or employee health and safety training programs.

    + Coordinate oversight of workers’ compensation cases in collaboration with the EHS Manager, workers’ compensation carrier, external healthcare providers, and legal representatives.

    + Oversee the on-site EMT squad or designated first responders, ensuring readiness, proper training, and response protocols.

    + Conduct new hire health reviews and fit-for-duty assessments as appropriate.

    + Support and communicate plant-wide wellness programs and initiatives.

    + Contribute to the delivery of safety training, toolbox talks, and health-related communications.

    + Monitor trends in employee health and safety to identify and address potential risks.

    + Ensure medical supplies, first aid stations, and response equipment (e.g., AEDs) are maintained and accessible.

    Qualifications:

    + Registered Nurse (RN) with current state license required.

    + Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN) preferred.

    + Minimum of 3 years of experience in occupational health, industrial, or manufacturing settings.

    + Working knowledge of OSHA standards, workers' compensation, HIPAA compliance, and medical surveillance programs.

    + Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with employees across all levels.

    + Ability to prioritize and multitask in a dynamic production environment.

    + Experience supporting safety programs is strongly preferred.

    Special Demands:

    May experience high noise and industrial environments on a limited basis.

    Education / Training:

    Minimum:

    + Bachelor Science Nursing degree or higher.

    + Must have unencumbered nursing license.

    Preferred:

    + Certified Occupational Health Nurse.

    + Occupational Health, Employee Health, or Emergency Department experience.

    + Adult CPR/AED certification.

    Schedule:

    + Monday to Friday

    + Emergency Response as needed
