Team Overview:

Wealth Management Advice and Solutions (WMAS) First Line Risk Management department is responsible for delivering the risk profile of the division and producing impactful risk reporting and risk analytics for the division and firm. The Risk Insights and Model Risk team is responsible for developing and enhancing risk reporting, risk analytics, and model risk management functions used within WMAS to identify, assess, and monitor risks.
What You Will Do:
The Sr. Risk and Control Associate will drive the proactive identification of opportunities where analytics can inform business decisions and strategy development. This role involves performing advanced analyses, consulting with business owners, and leading analytic approaches to solve complex problems. The associate will ensure risk information integrity, manage, and transform complex datasets, and apply analytical concepts to generate actionable insights. In addition, the role includes communicating insights effectively to senior leaders, serving as a technical and functional data expert, and advocating for a strong risk culture. This role has a strong emphasis on developing and managing risk reporting. This position is crucial for delivering impactful insights that support risk-based decision-making at Edward Jones.
Responsibilities include:
+ Drive the proactive identification of opportunities where analytics can inform business decisions and strategy development. Perform advanced analyses, consult with business owners, and lead analytic approaches to solve complex problems.
+ Ensure risk information integrity, manage, and transform complex datasets, and apply analytical concepts to generate actionable insights. Communicate insights effectively to senior leaders, serving as a technical and functional data expert, and advocate for a strong risk culture.
+ Understand the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and Standards, identify opportunities to align WMAS risk programs to ERM, and lead the department and/or business areas to adopt necessary changes.
+ Manage WMAS Divisional risk programs, create efficiencies and increased effectiveness for those executing the programs, and identify and deploy improvements to the risk programs.
+ Develop and maintain WMAS first line risk reporting and analytics.
+ Build strong collaborative relationships with ERM stakeholders and WMAS business stakeholders.
+ Assist divisional associates or business leaders in understanding the Enterprise Risk Management Program and expectations and identify opportunities to develop risk reporting and risk metrics.
+ Carry out some risk and control activities per the Enterprise Risk Management Program as well as any divisional-required elements.
+ Stay informed on risk industry and educational/development opportunities.

Skills/Requirements
What Experience You Need:
+ Bachelor's Degree required with an emphasis in finance, business, economics, data science, math or analytics preferred. Relevant work experience will be considered.
+ 5 years' experience is required, preferably in risk management experience
+ Series 7 required or attainable within twelve months of hire
+ Experience in building relationships and networks, at varying levels in the organization
+ Experience using Microsoft Excel, including use of pivot tables, formulas, macros, vba, charts/graphs.
+ Proficient with visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBi
+ Strong analytical, critical and systems thinking required
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to tailor communication based on the audience and communicate with influence
What Could Set You Apart:
+ Experience with statistical tools such as SAS, SPSS, R, or Python preferred.
+ Experience managing and facilitating risk reporting, model risk management, and/or Key Risk Indicator programs
+ Previous analytical related experience is preferred
+ Financial Services industry experience is a preferred
*Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
