Premier Healthcare, a member of the YAI Network, is currently seeking a parttime Medical Records Clerk for our East Tremont (Bronx) Outpatient Practice.
Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
+ Ensures medical records are assembled in standard order and are accurate and complete.
+ Files and/or scan paperwork and reports in EHR and or paper charts
+ Ensure files are stored in the designated area according to storage procedures.
+ Responsible for safeguarding patient records and ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
+ Responds to requests for patient records, both within the facility and by external sources, retrieving them and transmitting them appropriately.
+ Retrieves medical records from offsite chart storage facilities when needed.
+ Ensures legal requests are communicated effectively to the legal department.
+ Issue medical files to persons and agencies according to laws and regulations.
+ Help with departmental audits and investigations.
+ Complete clerical duties including answering phones, responding to emails, and processing patient admission and discharge records.
+ Works with front desk receptionist with auditing records in regard to communication of intake documents needed for patients scheduled daily.
Minimum Qualification Requirements including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities (e.g. lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.)
+ Knowledge of alpha/numeric filing systems
+ HS Diploma required
Preferred
. Bilingual Spanish
. Associates preferred
This position is 3 days per week for a total of 24 hours (9am-5pm).
Compensation: $17.29 hourly
