APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY - $52,200.00 to $76,608.72 PAY GRADE: 30
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
This recruitment is for a Staff Professional Trainee, underfill for Unemployment Insurance Representative 3 located in Las Vegas. The incumbent will progress to the next level as they meet minimum qualifications. Unemployment Insurance Representatives perform a broad variety of activities related to the timely and accurate processing and payment of unemployment insurance benefits claims. This position adjudicates unemployment insurance claims issues concerning eligibility to receive benefits; gathers information and conducts fact-finding telephone interviews to identify and resolve issues; and writes and distributes decisions concerning entitlement to unemployment insurance benefits. Incumbents interview claimants, employers and any third party necessary to obtain facts and information; apply appropriate sections of State laws and regulations; administrative policies and procedures to determine case outcomes; interpret and explain laws, procedures, policies and requirements to unemployment insurance claimants and employers. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any field; OR two years of journey level technical or paraprofessional experience in the field in which the applicant is to be trained.
Additional Position Criteria
This recruitment is only open to current classified employees in state service with at least six months of continuous, full-time equivalent service.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
