* Duration: Till 6/30/26 with possibility of extension.
* Onsite or Remote? Candidates MUST be WI residents or willing to relocate to WI within 30 calendar days of start date. Local candidate preferred.
* Services to DNR must be physically completed within the State of Wisconsin including during remote work. Hybrid, On a weekly basis DNR is currently 60% remote and 40% in the office. Headquarters is downtown Madison, WI. Hybrid requirement is weekly not monthly. New contractor must start on site for a five-day orientation/on boarding. Work cannot be conducted outside the United States.
Description:
The Department of Natural Resources, DNR IT Custom Application Development Section seeks to hire a Microsoft .NET Web Developer III to design, develop, test, implement and maintain solutions and features for applications in Microsoft .NET environment. The developer needs to provide reliable, responsive support and updates to these systems. This work requires @40 hrs/week) work for a candidate with advanced developer skill sets and experience. The position may be working on new development, enhancements and/or providing support for existing applications as determined by agency priorities.
The candidate must have proven work experience with application development, user interface development for custom applications and database development. The person hired for this position must work closely with team members and DNR Application Architect Lead for application solutions, development plans, and ensure effective integration among information systems and the IT infrastructure. This may include working with DNR approved third party technologies. An important part of the position will be to understand the interactions between applications, and services within the DNR environment, and evaluate the impact of changes or additions.
The candidate should be motivated to stay on top of technological advancements to ensure that solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry and agency standards as well as emerging business requirements. The candidate must understand user and process requirements and ensure those requirements can be achieved through high quality deliverables. The candidate for this position will need to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and be able to perform a variety of tasks.
The most qualified candidate will have:
• Advanced level application development skillsets including Analysis and Development within Microsoft .Net Framework.
• Coding experience in .Net framework, MVC including C#, Javascript and Bootstrap.
• Experience coding applications in Angular.
• Experience applying Object Oriented Design.
• Experience applying Standard Security methods to custom applications.
• Experience in SSRS/Power BI for developing reports.
• Experience creating web APIs.
• Experience developing applications with Oracle backend databases including experience writing stored procedures and SQL.
