Dr. Nilofer Azad is seeking to hire a **_Research Technologist_** with a BS/BA in Biology or Chemistry/Biochemistry or similar field with interests in immunology. Dr. Azad’s laboratory investigates immune-based approaches to the treatment of hepatobiliary solid tumors, with a specific focus on hepatocellular carcinoma, fibrolamellar carcinoma, and cholangiocarcinoma. Under the supervision of Dr. Azad, her laboratory supervisor, collaborating postdoctoral fellows and PhD students in the laboratory, individuals filling this position will participate in a wide range of translational GI cancer immunology research using primary patient-derived human samples and mouse models of hepatobiliary cancer.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
+ Tissue culture: Culture and maintain primary cells and cell lines using sterile technique. Perform in vitro assays to assess cellular responses and use gene editing techniques to generate transgenic cellular models.
+ Maintain animal colonies and participate in mouse experiments including tumor implantation, tumor growth measurement, and harvesting of tumor and immune tissue.
+ Perform immunological assays including flow cytometry, ELISA, and ELISPOT.
+ Data analysis and interpretation: Analyze experimental data using statistical methods and relevant software tools, such as GraphPad, and FlowJo.
+ Routine lab maintenance: Maintain lab equipment, reagent stocks, and necessary records.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.
+ Some related post-undergraduate work experience preferred.
+ Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/Graduation Equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
