About the Role
The Director, Global Benefits Operations is a strategic and hands-on leadership role responsible for the administration of the company’s global benefits programs. This leader will ensure operational excellence across health & welfare, retirement, wellness, and other employee & Partner benefit plans. The role will also collaborate closely with the Head of Total Rewards, HR Business Partners, Finance and senior leadership to ensure benefit programs align with the firm’s talent strategy and support employee well-being, engagement, and retention globally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Lead the global benefits operations team in the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and compliant benefits services.
+ Inspire, develop, and retain a high-performing team, fostering a culture of growth, accountability, and empowerment.
+ Oversee the administration of benefit plans, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, wellness, pension, and retirement programs across multiple geographies.
+ Manage vendor relationships, service-level agreements, and contract negotiations to optimize service delivery and cost effectiveness.
+ Ensure global benefits programs comply with local, national, and international laws and regulations.
+ Lead the implementation of new programs, tools, and technologies to enhance employee experience and improve operational efficiency.
+ Identify opportunities to harmonize global benefits offerings while respecting regional nuances.
+ Collaborate with HR and internal communications teams to drive benefits awareness and understanding.
+ Develop and execute employee education campaigns during open enrollment and throughout the year.
+ Champion a culture of well-being by aligning benefits offerings with broader employee wellness and mental health initiatives.
+ Leverage data and analytics to measure plan effectiveness, usage trends, and ROI; provide regular reporting and insights to leadership.
+ Monitor legislative and regulatory changes; develop and update policies and procedures accordingly.
+ Ensure accurate plan documentation, filings (e.g., Form 5500), and audits.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
+ 12+ years of progressive experience in benefits operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role in a global organization.
+ Proven track record of leading benefits operations with a focus on scalability, process optimization, and service excellence across global regions.
+ Expertise in driving operational excellence through continuous improvement, automation, and cross-functional collaboration within a global environment.
+ Deep knowledge of U.S. benefits regulations (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, etc.) and experience managing benefits in international markets.
+ Passion for talent development, employee well-being, and building inclusive workplaces.
+ Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and manage complex benefits programs.
+ Preferred expertise in Workday or similar HRIS systems.
+ CEBS, CBP, or similar benefits certification.
+ Strategic thinking with operational excellence.
+ Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making.
+ Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
+ High integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.

At Wellington Management, our approach to compensation is designed to help us attract, inspire and retain the best talent in our industry. We strive to pay employees fairly and competitively across all levels and roles. Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:
USD 100,000 - 225,000
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.
Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
