Lenovo’s Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) provides end-to-end infrastructure solutions and services for organizations at any scale. A trusted partner every step of the way, we provide reliable infrastructure and support for Hybrid AI solutions including cloud computing, AI, as-a-Service, edge computing, data storage solutions and more.
What You’ll Do:
Lenovo’s Global ISG Communications team is responsible for driving brand awareness and delivering measurable business value for the business group while supporting the corporate objective of making Lenovo famous as a global AI powerhouse.
We’re seeking a hands-on, media-savvy PR professional with a deep understanding of the tech industry and the evolving media landscape. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of securing top-tier press coverage, earning industry accolades, and managing issues communications—all through their own expertise rather than agency support. This role requires someone who can proactively build and leverage media relationships, craft compelling narratives, and navigate fast-moving news cycles to elevate Lenovo’s brand and ISG’s visibility and reputation through direct engagement and strategic execution.
The role reports directly to the Director of Infrastructure Solutions Group Communications and will be part of a larger extended team of 100+ communications professionals around the world.
Responsibilities Include:
+ Leverage data and analysis to develop and deliver strategic PR coverage that position Lenovo’s Infrastructure Solutions Group as a leader in its field across AI, innovation, and business transformation.
+ Cultivate and maintain strong media relationships across consumer, business, broadcast, and tech sectors – pitching and securing bold feature stories in high-profile media publications and broadcast outlets.
+ Work with high-profile global business media on both proactive and reactive media opportunities, including preparing briefing materials and coaching spokespeople.
+ Develop various business group materials, including messaging, press releases, reactive talking points, social media content, speeches, etc.
+ Analyze and monitor the political and media landscape and sentiment to identify opportunities and risks for Lenovo and ISG storytelling.
+ Identify speaking and partnership opportunities that help raise Lenovo’s global profile and implement programs accordingly.
+ Monitor potential reputational risks, proactively identify emerging issues, and develop mitigation strategies to protect Lenovo’s brand and its ISG business interests.
+ Lead rapid response efforts during crises, developing and executing real-time communication plans to manage media narratives and stakeholder concerns.
+ Work closely with global product PR, analyst relations, thought leadership, marketing, corporate and local communications teams.
+ Align PR strategy with business objectives and executive priorities, as well as align PR tactics with broader stakeholders.
+ Partner with agencies and external stakeholders to amplify key messages and maximize media impact.
+ Stay up to date on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
+ Be able to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced, and matrixed environment.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism.
+ At least 7 years of direct experience working in public relations and/or corporate communications; a mix of agency and corporate experience preferred
+ At least 5 years of experience working in or with high technology companies; Data Center experience a plus
+ Demonstrable record of building productive relationships with press / influencers
+ Strong project management and communications skills
+ Must have proven ability to manage key business stakeholders across a variety of situations and issues
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience working either in-house in a global PR/communications team or in an agency on global client briefs in the technology sector, or as a journalist for a business or technology media outlet.
+ Demonstrated success working in a global or complex organizational structure, working with multiple stakeholders across different regions.
+ Be confident in building trust and strong relationships with the most senior leaders and combine the skills of a strategic advisor with those of a hands-on practitioner.
+ Exceptional writing skills – must be able to craft compelling narratives and executive messaging (independent of agency support).
+ Strategic thinker + hands-on executor – comfortable leveraging data to inform decisions/actions, and in rolling up your sleeves in a lean team environment.
+ Sense of discretion regarding confidentiality and handling of sensitive information with care.
+ Strong organizational and project management skills with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all communications.
+ Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and work effectively across int’l teams/time zones.
