Who We Are
Fisher Associates, P.E., L.S., L.A., D.P.C, is a multidisciplinary design services firm headquartered in Rochester, NY, with eight locations nationwide. The firm provides civil/site engineering, transportation engineering, electrical engineering, landscape architecture, architecture, planning, environmental, surveying, GIS, construction inspection, precast engineering and construction engineering services to public and private sector clients across numerous markets. All services are delivered through the firm’s signature “Clientship” philosophy, which emphasizes not only customized, innovative quality solutions but also an exceptional client experience driven by clear communication, deep expertise, and proactive client advocacy.
Salary Range:$23.00 - $27.00 hourly
Actual compensation may vary based on relevant experience, qualifications/education, and other factors. The salary range is not necessarily reflective of the actual total compensation that may be earned nor promises any specific pay for any specific employee. Salary range excludes monetary value of benefits.
Essential Functions
+ Conduct regular inspections of project sites to assess stormwater management practices, identify potential compliance issues, and ensure adherence to applicable regulations.
+ Monitor and evaluate erosion control measures, sediment control practices, and stormwater runoff management systems to ensure their effectiveness in preventing pollution and protecting water resources.
+ Document inspection findings, including photographs, field notes, and measurements, and maintain accurate records of compliance activities.
+ Communicate and collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and environmental consultants to address compliance issues and develop effective solutions.
+ Assist in the development and implementation of stormwater management plans, ensuring they align with regulatory requirements and best practices.
+ Stay up to date with changing stormwater regulations, industry standards, and best practices, and provide guidance to project teams to ensure compliance.
+ Coordinate with regulatory agencies and participate in meetings or inspections to address compliance concerns and resolve issues.
+ Conduct site investigations and respond to environmental incidents, such as spills or unauthorized discharges, in a timely and appropriate manner.
+ Prepare accurate and comprehensive reports summarizing inspection findings, compliance status, and corrective actions taken.
+ Conducts soil and water sampling.
+ Completes Chain-of-Custody forms accurately and completely.
+ Perform field inspections, collect field measurements, well monitoring, operations & maintenance of remediation equipment, and sample collection.
+ Coordinates with analytical laboratory to order project-specific bottle sets, submission of lab samples including completion of a Chain-of-Custody.
+ Complete and understand internal and client-specific safety training and plans required.
+ Collaborate with other company professional groups and project team professionals on multidisciplinary projects.

Requirements
Education & Experience
+ Associate or bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, natural resources, or related field preferred.
+ Environmental/agricultural monitoring experience a plus
+ OSHA 10 and HAZWOPER 40 hour certification and/or 8 hour refresher training highly preferred
+ NYS DEC endorsed 4 hour erosion and sediment control training highly preferred
+ Minimum of 1-3 years of in-field experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
+ Ability to travel-at least 2-3 times a week, sometimes overnight stays are required
