Some of what you'll be doing:
As an Aviation Maintenance Duty Baggage Manager, you will manage baggage handling operational needs and oversee the resolution of baggage system incidents and solve complex issues.
+ You will oversee the daily operation of the baggage handling system and identify areas where technical solutions would improve business performance.
+ You will build strong and effective relationships with the Port, airline, regulatory agency leadership, and executive teams to share information, leverage resources, and jointly design results-based solutions.
+ You will function as a point of contact, subject matter expert, and liaison regarding the operation of the baggage systems to and with stakeholders, both internal and external to the Port of Seattle.
+ You will maintain accurate airline flight schedule information within the various databases used by the baggage handling systems for baggage movement and sortation by correct and timely data input.
+ You will collect, interpret, and analyze baggage handling system data, and create detailed management reports and presentations to track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and delivery.
+ You will ensure baggage handling system utilization metrics are established and tracked to show the efficacy of current services provided, process improvements, and impact on overall customer experience and satisfaction.
+ You will perform appropriate risk analysis and develop contingency plans for unexpected problems that can have a significant impact on the overall baggage operations program.
Who you are:
+ **Experienced** – You have three (3) years of airport, airline, facilities or maintenance operations experience.
+ **Desired** – We hope you have a Certified Member (CM) AAAE certification.

What else you need to know:
+ **Driver’s License** – You will need a valid Washington State Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain one, is required in order to travel locally to project sites.
+ **Work Schedule** – Your normal work schedule will be the graveyard shift, Saturday – Tuesday, 8:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. You will need to be flexible to work other shifts as needed. You may be required to work any and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. You may be required to work during emergencies and respond during off shift hours to address any issues that could adversely impact Port operations.
+ **Work Environment** – You will primarily work outdoors in all types of weather conditions. You may be exposed to areas of high noise, lifting, climbing, walking, driving on the ramp and office environment.
+ **Washington State Residency Requirement** – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
+ **Security Requirements** – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance. You will also be required to obtain a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Customs Seal within 30 days of hire.
