    The Associate Director, Operational Excellence will play a critical role in supporting operations & execution of US medical affairs strategies for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and retina. This position reports directly to the Director, Medical Excellence & Impact, Medical Affairs, and will serve as a core member of the US Medical Affairs team and will work in close collaboration with other cross-functional team members

    Key Responsibilities:

    The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of thriving in complexity and ambiguity, ideally with experience in collaborating with key business partners. Specific responsibilities include:

     

    + Enhance financial execution for therapeutic areas by acting as the primary medical affairs liaison for funding decisions, identifying and addressing project spending statuses, and contributing to the overall efficiency and strategic management of financial operations and budgets.

    + Serve as the primary point person for operational tasks related to contracting and procurement, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and processes.

    + Act as the primary medical affairs liaison for strategic initiatives, overseeing project execution and progress reporting, while playing a key role in supporting therapeutic area prioritization and strategic decision-making for projects.

    + Support MAF-wide operational tasks to ensure effective communication and alignment among cross-functional teams while monitoring the progress of critical operational tasks to maintain focus on timelines and deliverables.

    + Collaborate closely with the US medical affairs team and cross-functional partners to strategically develop and manage overall project plans, while also acting as a thought partner for various medical affairs initiatives and medically focused activities as needed.

    + Optimize vendor management processes by identifying and engaging top-performing vendors to efficiently meet organizational needs, managing external vendor relationships, collaborating with internal medical affairs team members to develop and execute clean and detailed vendor Statements of Work (SOW), and serving as the primary contact for all contract-related activities, including initiation, ongoing support, completion, and close-out for relevant medical affairs initiatives.

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in related discipline required.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

    + A minimum of 2 years of experience in medical affairs operations or an equivalent role within pharmaceutical space is preferred

    + Strong leadership skills, ability to work independently, strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.

    + Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision to meet tight deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and displaying adaptability and agility in navigating a rapidly evolving environment.

    + Willingness to travel within and outside of the U.S. as needed (estimated 10%).

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is 137000 to 235750.

    Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

    The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year.
