# Project Overview:
Thacker Pass is the largest known lithium resource in the United States. Once complete, the mine and processing facilities will produce more lithium carbonate than any other facility in the United States
As the EPCM contractor for Lithium Americas, Bechtel is responsible for managing and integrating the efforts of a team of contractors engineering and building the facility. The project is in the high desert and wide-open spaces of north-central Nevada about 25 miles from the Oregon border, 1 hour northwest of Winnemucca, Nevada and 3 hours northeast of Reno.
# Job Summary:
In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. \#LI-NP1
# Major Responsibilities:
Work Planning & Packaging
+ Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
+ Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures.
Material Management
+ Initiates requisitions for field purchases
+ Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
Quantities
+ Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
Safety / Quality Control
+ Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
Technical
+ Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
System Turnover Coordinator
For Direct Hire
+ Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
STR / Subcontract Coordinator
+ Reviews and approves inspection test plans,
+ Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals
# Education and Experience Requirements:
+ Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
# Required Knowledge and Skills:
+ Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
+ Demonstrated proficiency with Survey CAD software, such as TBC (Trimble Business Center), Leica Infinity and AutoCAD Civil 3D; including proficiency with construction layout computations and generation of Digital Terrain Models (DTM) and volumes computations; and drafting of as staked/as-built data.
+ Must have a solid record of successful project completion with little to zero rework.
+ Knowledge of heavy industrial construction survey principles.
+ Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to heavy industrial construction surveying field & office activities.
+ Displays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner.
+ Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment, able to formulate a working relationship with survey team members, other departments, and contractors, and survey functional management.
+ Demonstrated advanced proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
+ Knowledge of Bechtel’s “Zero Incidents” safety program.
+ Knowledge of Bechtel quality standards.
+ Demonstrated proficiency with transferring data to and from field data controllers.
+ Must have experience managing teams working on multiple work fronts; experience working under time constraints and must be adaptable to changing conditions.
+ Must be physically capable to participate in project walkdowns, which may require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing in or maneuvering around very small and/or confined spaces.
+ Heavy industrial US direct hire construction experience
