Job Description
Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for public health and emergency response? Join us as the **Public Health Preparedness Program Manager** and lead efforts that keep our community ready for anything—from pandemics to natural disasters. You’ll manage planning, training, partnerships, and staff, while playing a key role in emergency operations.
What You’ll Do:
+ Oversee all aspects of the Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) Program
+ Lead emergency planning and response efforts across local, state, and federal partners
+ Supervise and support preparedness team members
+ Develop and evaluate emergency drills and training programs
+ Ensure readiness through planning, coordination, and grant compliance
+ Represent Jackson County in regional planning and response efforts
+ Be on-call 24/7 for emergencies and take part in the Incident Command System
+ Maintain confidentiality and follow all HIPAA and compliance regulations
What You Bring:
+ **Bachelor’s degree** in public health, nursing, epidemiology, or related field
+ **3+ years** in public health or emergency management, including at least 1 year in a leadership role
+ Valid driver’s license (per Fleet Safety Policy, if driving is required)
Bonus Points For:
+ **Master’s degree** in public health, emergency management, or a related field
