The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Medical Air Reserve Technician (ART), providing medical administration management expertise to the Aerospace Medicine Enterprise Manager. Provides technical training to reserve personnel in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein. Responsibilities Provide direct support to the Aerospace Medicine Enterprise Manager for completion of all health standards and force health protection program management. Provide support toward conducting studies, collecting data, and identifying trends. Provides Wing support in the organization and administration of Force Health Readiness. Provide support to establish squadron compliance with pre/post deployment tasks and other medical readiness screenings and requirements. Conduct extensive studies and monitor compliance with medical requirements to ensure timely completion and medical qualification of assigned personnel. Provide comprehensive case management, care coordination, and discharge/disposition services. Oversees record keeping and program compliance. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standards Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level (or other equivalent pay systems) in federal service which equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position being filled. Specialized experience is experience which includes applying an understanding of office administration policies, procedures, operations, budget, personnel and processing functions of the medical unit; developing written and/or oral recommendations which consider factors and requirements associated with the eligibility /assessment of medical standards; conducting quality control review on completed physical examination packages to determine duty qualifications; working with multidisciplinary teams to monitor, evaluate, and coordinate care to ensure proper disposition of individual duty, mobility and fitness standards. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. To combine education and experience, determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally, add the two percentages. Knowledge of practices, procedures, and methods used to measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of responsible medical programs and medical administrative concepts, theories, procedures and techniques, as well as specialized knowledge of wartime medical operations and missions. Knowledge of medical planning and programming concepts and a thorough knowledge of organizational medical mission, equipment specifications (Allowance Standards) and operational parameters. Knowledge of medical and administrative programs throughout the organization in order to conduct studies, analyze findings, and make recommendations on substantive program changes within the organization. Skill and ability to prepare project/staff reports and deliver briefings to high level officials. Ability to plan, organize and communicate both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education ARE YOU USING YOUR EDUCATION TO QUALIFY?
