    Undergrad Co-op - Operations - Electrical - Rhode Island

    Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. The Facilities and Engineering Department at Amgen Rhode Island is seeking an Undergrad Co-op for a 6-8 week assignment from June - August 2025.

     

    Reporting to a Manager of Maintenance, this position is responsible for performing tasks related to Electrical system operation and maintenance activities throughout the ARI site.

    Specific duties include:

    + Gain experience operating a large-scale production facility by shadowing technicians in various functions within the Facilities & Engineering department to operate, maintain, and sustain of all major electrical equipment on site.

    + Taking part in improvement projects related to the electrical systems at ARI through supporting day-to-day operations to ensure a safe, compliant, effective, efficient, and cost appropriate utility operations at ARI.

    + Assist Amgen Electrical group in troubleshooting and repair of equipment and systems

    + Ensure activities are accomplished in a safe manner

    + Assist Amgen Electrical group to ensure work order documentation is completed accurately and completely

    + Identify opportunities to learn new skills and actively participate in development that will improve overall knowledge

    + Collaborate with Facilities & Engineering peers within the Amgen network

    Basic Qualifications

    Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergrad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

    + 18 years or older

    + Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent OR

    + Currently enrolled in an Associate’s Degree program with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

    + Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing

    + Enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree or Associate's degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university

    + Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

    + Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship OR co-op

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Degree concentration(s) in Mechanical engineering technology, Electrical engineering technology, Electronics/instrumentation/controls systems and automation, Welding technology, HVAC/refrigeration, Plumbing/pipefitting or related field

    + Knowledge and understanding of working in a highly regulated function

    + Equipment troubleshooting skills

    + Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems

    + Ability to understand drawings

    + P&ID’s and equipment schematics and wiring diagrams

    + Ability to follow written procedures and job instructions to operate and maintain systems and equipment

    The base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $24.70 - $28.30 per hour.
