Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced talent pro to join our group as an HR Business Partner located in Saint Louis, Dallas, or Chicago. This role will report to the VP of HR for Kemper Life and work directly with our Head of Sales and their leadership team. You will lead a team to support field execution across our 21-state footprint. You will serve as a strategic partner, collaborating with senior leaders to provide HR consulting as they develop their organization and talent capabilities. You will formulate and execute people strategies that support the business objectives and consult leaders on all the HR disciplines with specific focus on Total Rewards, Talent Management, and Talent Acquisition.
Position Responsibilities:
+ Partner with senior executives and their teams leveraging insights derived from robust business, market, industry, and people analytics to facilitate the development of effective human capital strategic plans that accomplish the business goals.
+ Serve as a member of the assigned executive’s leadership team accountable for success of the overall business function.
+ Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders regarding organization design, structure, and workforce planning that optimally supports operational and strategic objectives of the business.
+ Lead a team of HR Field Managers to diagnose human resource implications of the organization’s strategy and partner with HR COEs provide corresponding solutions.
+ Oversee development and execution of coordinated management development plans and programs that increase manager effectiveness.
+ Assess organizational effectiveness and team performance improvement opportunities and partner with leaders to drive results.
+ Operate with a sense of energy, ownership and personal commitment.
Position Qualifications:
+ 8+ years of experience in Human Resources function; 2+ years business partner experience preferred.
+ Strong experience in manager development.
+ Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Human Resource Management or related field or equivalent level of relevant experience.
+ Master’s degree preferred.
+ Demonstrated management experience in positions of increasing responsibility.
+ Experience working in Financial Services/Insurance experience preferred.
+ Moderate level of travel is required.
+ Strong business acumen and savvy. Understand and effectively apply general principles of business and financial management.
+ Strong results and process improvement orientation. Anticipates and deals effectively with concerns or resistance to change.
+ Solid understanding of multi-site distribution, building sales plans, sales activity management, and variable sales incentives.
+ Experience working in or closely with high-volume recruiting.
+ Experience developing business enabling talent strategies and holistic manager development programs.
+ Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to flex as appropriate for the audience.
+ Data driven decision making understand patterns, trends and interrelationships.
+ Strong influencing capability. Identify the agendas, concerns, and motivations of others.
+ Demonstrated experience driving change and influencing leaders in a transformational environment.
