    HARBORVIEW- EEG DEPARTMENT** has an outstanding opportunity for a **Patient Care Coordinator/Scheduler.** **WORK SCHEDULE

     

    + Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week)

    + Monday 7:30-17:30; Tuesday- Thursday 7:30am- 16:30pm Friday 7:30-15:30

    + Opportunity to provide career growth **DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION** Located at Harborview Medical Center, the EEG & Neurophysiology Lab is part of the UW Medicine Regional Epilepsy Center and Neurology Clinic.The lab provides electroencephalography and related diagnostic testing services on a provider-referral basis. **RESPONSIBILITIES**

    + Triage medical information in a specific medical or surgical specialty

    + Schedule diagnostic procedures and follow-up patient appointments

    + Act as a liaison between patients, consulting physician, referring physician, or outside agency to coordinate patient appointments, admission, or surgery

    + Will coordinate the exchange of information either written or verbally before and after patients are seen

    + Obtain all necessary medical records, diagnostic studies, pathology items, etc., that are needed for patient care

    + Assist in scheduling new patient appointments by triaging to appropriate department and physician

    + Enter appointment information in online appointment system

    + Coordinate pre-admission tests and procedures

    + Schedule and ensure pre-anesthesia works-ups are completed **QUALIFICATIONS**

    + Bachelor's Degree in a medically related or public relations field

    + Two years of experience in a tertiary patient care setting involving interaction with a variety of medical services, contact with patients and families, interaction with physicians, and proficiency in medical terminology **OR**
