    Summary This position for The Defense Information Systems Agency is at Fort Meade, Maryland . Responsibilities Serves as Security Officer, plans, organizes and directs the personnel and activities of the Security Division. Determines program goals; determines resources required, plans and assigns projects; delegates authority and responsibility to subordinate supervisors, develops and implements administrative policies throughout the office. Serves as the agency Senior Intelligence Officer and exercises overall management of the DISA SCI Program. Responsible for agency-wide Special Security Office operations for the protection of SCI information. Responsible for directing, administering, and overseeing the agency’s information security program for the protection of classified information. Ensures DISA meets and implements all Federal and DOD information security policies. Maintains contact and liaison with national level security organizations, OSD, Joint Staff, and others to ensure exercise of command authorities, current interpretation and implementation of newly issued security policies. Briefs the DISA Director and other senior leadership regarding complex security issues. Provides in-depth analysis and threat-based, risk management security solutions to support agency missions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Time in Grade: For entry at the GS-15 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-14 or higher grade in the Federal Service. Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-14 if outside the Federal service. Specialized Experience is defined as: Managing an organization's security programs to protect classified information and to ensure proper access to sensitive or classified information and/or facilities; and leading and providing oversight of security staff members and/or contractors, including work assignments and priority determinations. In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Education There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GS-15 grade level. Individuals tentatively selected for drug testing designated positions at the Defense Information Systems Agency will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement. Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency. The incumbent supports the 24-hour, 7-day a week operational mission within DISA organizations, which may require the incumbent to be in a standby or recall status in case of national emergency, mission critical systems outage, or other scenario deemed appropriate by the Director/Commander. This may also require that the incumbent carry a pager, mobile phone, or to be directly recalled to duty from a recall roster. Recruitment, relocation, or retention incentives MAY be authorized.
