    WORK SCHEDULE

    + Day shift

    + Monday - Friday **POSITION HIGHLIGHTS** Under the general supervision of the Manager of Release of Information (ROI), and the direct supervision of the Supervisor of Release of Information in Enterprise Records and Health Information (ERHI), the ROI Health Information Lead is responsible for implementing the mission and goals of Enterprise Records and Health Information and incorporating Release of Information governance principles where and whenever appropriate. The Release of Information, Health Information Lead is responsible for assigning, scheduling, and instructing the work of ROI Health Information Technicians 2 and 3 who perform daily activities related to the building and processing of ROI record requests. **DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION**

    + Enterprise Records and Health Information (ERHI) is a Shared Service Department that supports all aspects of the patient medical record from governance, integrity, documentation timeliness, completion, clinical coding, billing, release, and tracking to management of access, retention, and destruction.

    + ERHI provides advice and resources related to the lifecycle management of all UW Medicine records

    + ERHI is an integral part of the Enterprise Revenue Cycle and has a unique role in the organization that supports both clinical and operational activities. **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**

    + Assists the ROI Supervisor and aids in the development and implementation of policies and procedures, work methods, performance standards, in-service training, and schedules to be followed by the shift; establish job priorities and coordinate workflow for the shift.

    + Assign and schedule work in ROI Epic work queues and other ROI work, communicating them to staff to meet defined turnaround times for various release type and priority levels for division and/or service area. Monitor Epic work queue trends and escalate to ROI Leadership impacts to timely building, processing and releasing of records, and avoidable delays to compliance regulations.

    + Respond to general questions and serve as an organization, department resource, and subject matter expert for release of information guidelines, procedures and workflows.

    + Assist in helping define and interpret applicable rules, procedures, and regulations for employee and clients; resolve problems between department staff and clients, both internal and external to the medical center.

    + Recommend training opportunities for staff and new system enhancements and workflows.

    + Assist staff as needed with utilizing systems/applications: Epic and Legacy Data Management systems, ROI workflows, ROI compliance HIPAA, Federal and State compliance guidelines and regulations.

    + Develop in-depth knowledge of ROI educational resources and utilization of them to best support ROI staff.

    + Assist with the ROI Records Analyst 2 team with the development and training of new and current ROI staff, as appropriate to job role.

    + Participate in the preparation of departmental operation summaries and statistics.

    + Assure maintenance of confidentiality in the release of information.

    + Maintain a variety of statistical materials for the program.

    + Process Airlift Northwest (ALNW) record requests.

    + Perform special projects and other duties assigned.

    + May perform the work of lower-level classifications of the Health Information Technician series **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** High School graduation or equivalent and two years of Lead experience in the program specialty.OREquivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration. **UW Medicine – Where your Impact Goes Further** UW Medicine is Washington’s only health system that includes a top-rated medical school and an internationally recognized research center.
