Responsibilities:
GENERAL SUMMARY
Observes and reports all violations of the principles of fire prevention and maintains fire prevention materials at predetermined standards. Inspects all University properties for fire safety, including fire hydrants, fire extinguishers, fire pumps, and fire protection systems. Conducts fire drills and fire safety training classes and participates in training programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Inspects and maintains University fire extinguishers in accordance with local, state, and national codes and standards.
+ Inspects all University properties for fire safety.
+ Assists in testing fire protection equipment and systems such as standpipes, sprinklers, fire alarms, and fire pumps for compliance with predetermined standards.
+ Performs flow tests on university fire hydrants, fire pumps, and fire protection systems.
+ Conducts fire drills as required by local, state, and national authorities having jurisdiction. Assists in conducting fire safety training classes and participates in training programs for fire brigades.
+ Prepares and submits routine and special reports on all assigned activities.
+ Maintains computer files of inspections and incidents and equipment inventories.
+ Maintains familiarity with current applicable codes and standards.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
+ High School diploma required
+ 2 years of related experience preferred
+ Or equivalent combination of education and experience
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
+ DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State upon hire required
