General Maintenance Details

Essential Job Duties:

+ Maintains and repairs electronic equipment, circuit breaker panels, electrical equipment, fire alarm, and nurse call and equipment controls.

+ Installs new electrical circuits, lights, motors, and equipment. Assists in electrical modifications. Infrequently removes motors of all weights, sometimes extremely heavy, from very cramped spaces.

+ Conducts annual inspections of the electrical distribution system.

+ Services, inspects, and repairs fire alarm and nurse call systems.

+ May be requested to perform general maintenance work when necessary. Will be on the stat call list during off normal hours (after 3:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday) to respond to stat calls. Employee will be eligible for stat call benefits as outlined in the administrative manual.

+ Works overtime and rotates shifts when required.

+ Maintains current knowledge of safety codes and regulations governing health-care facilities.

+ Performs assigned preventative maintenance within time frame allotted.

+ Is able to troubleshoot equipment and implement problem-solving plan.

+ Utilizes appropriate reference materials such as employee handbook, departmental procedures, safety manual, equipment manual, etc.

+ Exhibits dependability, including reporting to work on time and working all scheduled shifts.

+ Follows daily work schedule as assigned maintaining proper productivity standards.

+ Maintains all equipment in clean condition for the next shift.

+ Follows best safety practices in performing all job duties.

Qualifications:

+ Continuously pursues a certification in Bio-Medical Equipment Technology (CBET) through classrooms, training, seminars, and self-study.

+ Licensed electrician or equivalent experience.

+ Knowledge of blueprints with which to lay out minor projects.

+ Knowledge of electrical and pneumatic control, national electrical and national fire protection association codes.

+ Able to follow oral and written instructions.

+ Relevant experience required.
