Consumer Health Product Supply NA Myerstown Engineering Facilities SSHE Lead

This role leads all engineering activities, Safety, Sustainability, Health and Environment (SSHE), Facilities and Utilities Infrastructure and Maintenance, Spare parts, and Site Security for the CH PS NA Myerstown site as well as Capital Investments for Myerstown, Manchester (Distribution Center) and NA CMOs. The role leads a dynamic team and is accountable for the overall management of the engineering support function activities for OTC and Nutritionals factories at the Myerstown site including integration of the asset Life Cycle Management and spare parts program with the Product Supply System (PSS) operating efficiency strategy, continuous production process improvement, and capital projects investment planning and execution including Myerstown, Manchester (Distribution Center), and NA CMOs locations. The role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and a focus on driving innovation, and cost efficiency. The role is responsible for developing and implementing the long-term 5+ year site vision & strategy related to space utilization, innovative manufacturing technologies, facility layout and expansion.

This role must provide strong leadership and coaching and development for high performing teams with a culture based on the Bayer DSO principles. The role ensures the development of a 5+ year site master plan with large-scale and small (lump sum) capital investments and provides the leadership and ownership to translate the strategy to business needs, financial business case investments, and planning & execution of projects while optimizing capital expenditure regarding COGS and operating costs. The role is accountable for the delivery of CAPEX projects in time adhering to Safety, Quality, Supply and Cost commitments with least production impact from project implementation. The incumbent must have clear ownership of maintaining high standards of Safety and Quality in all aspects of the site engineering support function including Operational Excellence, Efficiencies and Continuous Improvement near and long-term strategies.

The role embraces Dynamic Shared Ownership (DSO) principles and practices and follows the VACC approach to leadership (being a visionary, architect, catalyst, and coach). The role actively evolves the site operating model and fosters successful adoption of DSO.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Consumer Health Product Supply NA Myerstown Engineering Facilities SSHE Lead, are to:

• Team Leadership: Act as VACC (Visionary, Architect, Coach and Catalyst) to build, lead, and mentor a high performing team of professionals, promoting a collaborative and innovative work environment. Establish target outcomes, priorities and coordinate talent flow to maximize organizational impact. The incumbent demonstrates, credibly embodies and showcases VACC leadership.

• People Development:

o Shape employee development, evaluation, compensation and career path based on skills; build a diverse, inclusive talent pool where members share and support each other to build their expertise; recruit, hire, and onboard new employees, based on team requirements.

o Establish, coach, and provide vision for site's Engineering, Facilities and SHE functions teams fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional development.

• Team Capability:

o Support teams to learn in rapid cycles and build capabilities needed to create value for customers and other stakeholders.

• Strategy Development:

o Develop a comprehensive long-term site strategy (aka Master Plan) related to space utilization, new innovative manufacturing technologies, facility layout and expansion, integration with site and global/regional innovation programs, and building resiliency into the plant operating modules leading to a 5+ year site strategy.

o This strategy will align with the organization's overall business objectives, ensuring scalability, sustainability, and competitive advantage.

• Capital Projects Engineering:

o Manage the CH PS NA Capital Investment budget for Myerstown, Manchester (Distribution Center), and CH PS NA CMOs locations.

o Ensure the flawless execution of a short term (3 year) and a long term (5+ year) Site Strategy / Master Plan integrating site growth objective, supply chain resilience, packaging expansion project, site digital and PSS acceleration roadmaps, sustainability, and other global / regional strategies.

o Provide leadership and ownership to translate the strategy to business needs and ensure the delivery of projects in time adhering to high standards of Safety, Quality, Supply and Cost commitments avoiding production impact from project implementation where possible.

o Ensure the development and execution of the robust and reliable asset life cycle management programs closely align with site’s Operational Excellence, Efficiencies and Continuous Improvement strategies for production equipment, facilities, and systems.

• Factory Innovation, New Technologies and Cost Improvement:

o Drive a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and Factory of Future (digitalization) initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and increase production capacity.

o Drive the implementation of new technologies in manufacturing and packaging processes including Continuous Production Systems (CPS), Direct Compression, Roller Compaction, Dispensing, Mixing, Coating, Branding and high-speed packaging.

o Provide leadership for cost savings and key strategic initiatives for new technologies across manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, and quality functions at the Myerstown site.

• Safety, Sustainability, Health and Environment (SSHE), Site Security Management:

o Champion the "Prevention Culture" across Health-Safety-Environmental for the long-term health of the site, employees, and governance across the site. o Ensure the development and implementation of health and safety programs with all relevant safety regulations to minimize workplace hazards and accidents.

o Promote sustainability practices and ensures Myerstown facilities comply with environmental regulations.

o Oversee the Occupational Health services / coordination of external partner to ensure adherence to Bayer standards and overall proactive health-conscious culture across the site. Oversee the site Security services to ensure adherence to Bayer standards. •

• Facilities and Utilities Infrastructure Management:

o Oversee the facilities / utilities infrastructure and maintenance and ensure a safe, reliable, clean, and functional state of the art production environment and support areas (GMP and non-GMP).

o Ensure development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs for facilities and utilities equipment and systems for efficient and reliable operation, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.

o Cross-Functional collaboration with Reliability Engineering and ensure the assessment of critical spare parts and availability to minimize the unplanned downtime.

• End-to-End Performance:

o Take full accountability for the cost structure and operating budget for all Engineering support functions with a focus on cost savings and ensure that sufficient resources are available on a timely basis to meet the execution priorities and schedules.

o Guide decisions affecting the direction of projects being managed including initial business case, timeliness and implementation plans.

o Set priorities consistent with site, regional and global company goals and focus on high priority opportunities. •

• Quality & Compliance:

o Lead and protect our “License to Operate”. Ensure that engineering functions, facilities and processes are always maintained in excellent cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) conditions, cGMP compliance is fully met and required training programs are developed and implemented.

o Ensure complete compliance with all federal regulatory agencies’ requirements, EPA requirements for environmental stewardship, and OSHA requirements for occupational health and safety. In conjunction with other departments ensure that training programs are developed and implemented to meet all Bayer Quality and Health, Environment and Safety standards. Assure compliance to Bayer policies and directives.

o Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address any compliance issues. As well as provide the appropriate subject matter experts during FDA and other internal/external agencies audits. with particular emphasis on engineering processes at the site.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration:

o Work closely with operations, supply chain, quality, controlling, Manufacturing IT, CoE Hubs, procurement, HR, and other departments to ensure seamless collaboration across all functions.

o Work closely with Global Engineering team for Myerstown and NA Capital spending plan and StraCo. • Performance Metrics:

o Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the end-to-end performance, asset utilization, capital project execution. Establish and execute productivity goals through automation and AI technology.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree with multi-functional experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, and Operational Excellence/LEAN;

• Demonstrated VACC skills leading teams and multi-functional team collaboration.

• Multifunctional and deep experience of complex engineering and manufacturing management in the consumer and/or pharmaceutical industry;

• Experience in successful organizational transformation and change management initiatives. • Excellent project management skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and complex projects;
