Job Summary:
The Network Services Division within Caterpillar IT currently has an opening for an IT Manager for Wide-Area Network (WAN) Services and Support. This group is responsible for global network administration for the WAN, data center interconnects, and cloud connectivity. As part of the Network Services organization, the selected candidate will have an opportunity to work directly with enterprise locations globally to design and support WAN architecture in support of their growing business needs.
What You Will Do:
+ Manage a team of approximately fifteen individuals comprised of Caterpillar full-time, agency, and managed service partners delivering the following services:
+ Global network administration and support for the WAN, data center interconnects, and cloud connectivity.
+ Global network WAN design and implementation in support of facility, data center, and cloud initiatives
+ Enterprise network architecture for WAN routing for sites and data centers and cloud connectivity
+ Procurement of network WAN components, software, global maintenance agreements, and statement of work contracts
+ Asset management of WAN assets
+ Vulnerability management of WAN components
+ Site and Data Center TCOM (Telecom) circuit management; including circuit utilization management and capacity forecasting, new circuit quote requests, order management, vendor contracting and procurement, invoicing and dispute management, price benchmarking, and issue escalations with vendors.
+ Provide leadership and career development support, as well as regular performance evaluations and feedback
+ Manage relationships with WAN hardware suppliers and TCOM (telecommunication) vendors
+ Monitor and drive improvement to enterprise WAN services
+ Manage an IT expense budget of $19M+ USD / year
+ Manage the Caterpillar IT Offer-to-Sell process for WAN services
+ Manage TCOM (Telecom) circuit quoting, ordering, and implementation for all sites, data centers, and cloud connectivity
+ Manage relationships with internal and external suppliers
+ Manage procurement of network components, software, global maintenance agreements, and statement of work contracts
+ Manage strategic IT projects including the continuous refresh of enterprise network WAN infrastructure and TCOM circuits
+ Manage the development of strategic IT roadmaps for WAN services
+ Manage risk vulnerabilities for WAN components
+ Manage team documentation to ensure standard work is defined, monitored, and supported to achieve and maintain compliance to internal policies and procedures, including those relating to Cybersecurity and IT General Controls
+ Serve as escalation point for WAN-related incident tickets as defined by ITSM processes
What You Have:
+ Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field strong progressively complex IT experience
+ **Planning: Tactical, Strategic** : Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
+ **Leadership:** Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.
+ **Vendor/Supplier Management:** Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g. vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants and suppliers).
+ **Talent Management:** Knowledge of the critical competencies required to achieve intended results; ability to generate consistent approaches for hiring, selection, retaining and leveraging talent across the organization
+ **Managing Multiple Priorities:** Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
+ **Analytical Thinking:** Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
+ **Flexibility and Adaptability:** Knowledge of successful approaches and techniques for dealing with change; ability to adapt to a changing environment and be comfortable with change.
Top Candidate Will Also Have:
+ Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
+ Experience developing budget/expense management updates, forecast projections, and facilitating stakeholder and sponsor updates.
+ Experience (technical or leadership) in related infrastructure with a broad background in systems hardware, system software, support, and development methodologies.
+ Experience with business planning, project management, and customer needs management.
+ Broad knowledge of one or more applications or infrastructure components.
+ Good interpersonal, teaming, leadership, and communications skills.
+ Prior network and/or datacenter experience (technical or leadership).

+ The ideal location for this role is East Peoria-IL,
+ **MUST BE WILLING TO RELOCATE TO THIS LOCATION AND Work out of the office 5 times a week.**
+ This position may require 10% travel.
+ Sponsorship is **not** available including OPT, H4-EAD. **Must be** US Citizen or Green Card holder.

Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
