    About the role:

    Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently has an opening for a Design Engineer position located in the West Fargo, North Dakota facility. In this role, you will be the Product Design Engineer for remanufactured transmissions within the Reman drivetrain portfolio. The Reman drivetrain team is accountable for the overall quality and warranty of existing products, support of product and process salvage improvement projects to manage costs, and execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) programs introducing new product offerings for our dealers and customers.

    Job responsibilities will Include but are not limited to:

    + Responsible for Reman transmission products and performs necessary print maintenance & releasing.

    + Support the NPI team by evaluating Caterpillar transmissions for remanufacturing feasibility.

    + Provide support for product warranty and watching for emerging trends or issues.

    + Support production and quality issues for Reman drivetrain product built in Reman facilities.

    + Provide technical support to component salvage projects / techniques.

    Skill Descriptors:

    + **Managing Multiple Priorities: Working Knowledge** of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

    + **Technical Excellence: Working Knowledge** of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

    + **Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Working Knowledge** of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design drafts.

    + **Product Design - MFG: Working Knowledge** of processes, approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.

    + **Product Design and Development: Working Knowledge** of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

    Top Candidates Will Have:

    + Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Experience in drivetrain manufacturing, remanufacturing, or salvage technologies

    + Emphasis on initiative and self-starting tasks

    Additional Information:

    + Relocation assistance IS available for this role.

    + The primary location for this role is West Fargo, North Dakota.

    + 15-20% travel will be required for this position.

    Summary Pay Range:

    $87,480.00 - $131,280.00

     

    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
