JOB SUMMARY:
The Intern will be accountable for executing projects aimed at validating projects of added value to the company. The position requires a high level of autonomy, problem-solving capability, and technical rigor. The intern will be expected to independently plan and conduct experiments, analyze results, and communicate findings to the engineering team. This role supports the company's ongoing efforts to advance process reliability and material compatibility in high-performance applications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering Manager to contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of various projects aimed at supporting Materials testing and development.
+ Develop and execute a technical plan for projects.
+ Design and build experimental setups with appropriate controls and measurement systems.
+ Conduct hands-on testing, including preparation of test samples and evaluation of adhesion strength using mechanical or material characterization techniques.
+ Analyze process inputs and outputs to determine correlation of effectiveness.
+ Maintain organized and accurate records of procedures, data, observations, and conclusions.
+ Prepare technical documentation and present interim and final findings to the engineering team.
+ Collaborate with team members to obtain feedback and technical guidance while maintaining ownership of project direction.
+ Comply with all relevant safety procedures and maintain a clean, functional work area.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
+ Must be currently enrolled in a two or four-year accredited degree program, preferably in Engineering, Materials, Chemistry or related fields.
+ Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, PPT, Excel, MS Teams/Zoom
+ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
+ Good interpersonal skills & team oriented
+ Self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to manage time effectively under minimal supervision.
+ Ability to manage projects and multiple tasks simultaneously
+ Flexible, but organized
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is normally performed on site at STC’s office in Santa Ana, CA. Work hours will vary depending on project needs. Work is generally performed in an office or on the shop floor. Proper safety equipment is provided by STC where necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work involves standing, walking, sitting and desk time working at the computer can be expected. Deadlines, workloads during peak periods and changing priorities may cause increased stress levels. Work may include occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $36,600.00 - $55,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
