    The Human Resources Manager provides a key role in the achievement of all people-related goals. This position forms an important part of the national support team and will require a background supporting operational business deliverables. This position requires a sound understanding of labor laws, state and federal guidelines, compliance as well as a strong business acumen to aid in forming internal and external relationships necessary to become a trusted resource to the leadership team.

     

    The Human Resources Manager will ensure the common daily requirements of the operations are met and will support the people-related needs of the business, both in terms of strategic initiatives and the day-to-day operation.

    Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Oversee day-to-day HR process functions and ensure a high-level service is provided to the operation on a consistent basis;

     

    Manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified candidates;

     

    Supervise the annual employee engagement survey process including focus groups and action plans;

     

    Champion company initiatives to foster company culture and employee engagement;

     

    Advise managers and supervisors with guidance, assistance and direction on employee / labor relations matters;

     

    Manage any / all legal disputes associated with employment matters (i.e. wrongful termination, EEO, UE claims, etc.);

     

    Oversee the development and implementation of appropriate career development plans / initiatives for high potential / high performing talent;

     

    Develop and coordinate Human Resources initiatives with national leadership;

     

    Manage, administer, coordinate, and monitor short-term / long-term disability absences and liaise with group insurance provider as required;

     

    Advise national employees on company policies and processes;

     

    Ensure data integrity with respect to all HR related systems via regular audit;

     

    Direct workplace investigations, document, and facilitate corrective outcomes, where necessary;

     

    Advise on and coordinate termination packages and facilitate termination meetings as required;

     

    Quarterback regional rewards / recognition programs;

     

    Facilitate regional all-staff meetings by providing relevant and timely HR updates to staff as necessary;

     

    Some administration for onboarding/offboarding requirements, business correspondence, monthly billings, etc.;

     

    Occasional travel to facilities within the US Operations will be required;

     

    Other tasks may be necessary to support business and people-related needs;

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • A related undergraduate degree or diploma/certificate such as Human Resource Management or Business Administration is considered an asset

    • Industry knowledge and experience can be considered a substitute for education credentials in the correct circumstance

    WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Preferably 8+ years of experience working in human resources with direct operational support responsibilities

    • Experience assessing people and business-related issues and developing strategies to resolve solutions

    • Experience within a highly matrixed organization servicing multiple sectors / industries would be considered an significant asset
