    The Nursing Department in Sarah Neuman /Westchester Division of The New Jewish Home is seeking for a part time Unit Manager to join their team!

     

    The Sarah Neuman Nursing home of The New Jewish Home is seeking a part time ( 3 days or 21.75 hours per week) Unit Manager to join their team. This position sits in our Westchester Location, Weinberg Gardens. Location is 845 Palmer Avenue, Mamaroneck, New York.

     

    Work hours will be 11 am to 7 pm.

     

    + The Unit manager assumes clerical responsibility in coordinating activities at the community nurses' station.

    + He/She maintains medical records for each patient/resident that are complete, up-to-date and organized.

    + The unit manager interacts with patients/residents, staff, consultants, family members, visitors, and others in a manner that facilitates communication and presents a warm, caring, and competent image of the facility.

    Qualifications:

    + High school graduate or equivalent

    + Knowledge of medical terminology and records.

    + Previous experience as a clerk or receptionist in a Health Care Facility preferred.

    + Demonstrates a good command of the English Language: spoken, reading, and written.

    + Proficiency in computer use with MS Office.

    + Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

    + Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.

    + Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.

    + Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.

    + Must be willing to seek out new methods of job completion be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
