    Adult Access Clinician

    For more than 50 years, Washington County Mental Health Services (WCMHS) has served the Washington County community and the Orange County towns of Orange, Washington and Williamstown. WCMHS provides education, support, and treatment of individuals and families living with mental health challenges, substance use issues, and developmental and intellectual disabilities.     POSITION: WCMHS is seeking an Adult Access Clinician to provide crisis assessment, case management, and brief psychotherapy to adults experiencing acute mental health challenges. This role offers benefits and involves primarily home- and field-based services, working in close collaboration with Emergency/Urgent Programs, Outpatient Services, CRT, and Vermont psychiatric programs. Key responsibilities include immediate follow-up to crisis situations, conducting clinical assessments, providing short-term therapy, and coordinating referrals and discharge planning for adults in acute care. The position also involves ongoing collaboration with community agencies, offering consultation to treatment providers, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation. Candidates should be comfortable working in dynamic environments and have strong coordination and communication skills. Regular supervision and team meetings are part of the role, ensuring support and collaboration across programs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about crisis intervention and community-based care.

    QUALIFICATIONS: The Adult Access Clinician’s education and work experience will include:

    + Master’s degree in relevant field

    + Experience working with adults in a home-based treatment setting preferred.

    + Must have a valid driver’s license, possess an excellent driving record, and have access to a safe, reliable, insured vehicle.

    Additional requirements for this position include:

    + Ability to work until 8pm 1 or 2 nights a week

    + Experience working in crisis intervention.

    + Case Management skills and experience.

    + Create and participate in treatment team meetings, client advocacy and behavior management consultation.

    + Ability to work within a team with effective interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with teammates and colleagues within WCMHS and external partners.

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills. Expectation is for clinical documentation to be completed in a timely and organized manner.

    + C ommitment to the WCMHS mission and positive regard for individuals accessing services.

     

    COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: This full-time position offers an exempt hourly wage of $26.24 and excellent benefits, including tuition reimbursement/student loan assistance; generous paid time off; employer-sponsored health, dental, life, and disability insurances; and a 403(b)-retirement plan with employer match.
