    Shipping Lead

    MISSION / SUMMARY:

    Accountable for the output, productivity and efficiency of the department. Responsible for the

     

    implementation of quality assurance for the department - including procedures, standards, training, and

     

    quality control measures. Responsible for the equipment maintenance to manufacturers standards.

     

    **JOB FUNCTIONS:** _Job functions include, but are not limited to the following._

    + Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain delivery dates in order to plan departmentoperations.

    • Plans shipping and receiving requirements.

    + Schedules deliveries to meet customer expectations.

    + Works closely with Service department to stay abreast of customer demands.

    + Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Plant Manager for action.

    + Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.

    + Determine and set productivity expectations and quality goals and parameters.

    + Manage inventory of raw materials, work-in-process and finished products to ensure they are maintained at optimal levels.

    + Develop and carry out training for all employees in the department.

    + Develop and implement safety and housekeeping procedures and systems.

    + Directs the work of others in Shipping Department

    + Other duties as assigned

    BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:

    + Two year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Prior Shipping and Receiving experience, along with a proven track record of accomplishment in working in an environment servicing internal and external customers

    • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent attendance, be able to work independently and within a team environment.

    • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

    SKILLS:

    + Self-Driven and be able to learn and adapt to the changes the plant and team requires.

    + Read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to execute all functions with accuracy.

    + Work effectively within a team.

    + Complete all data entry/reporting with 100% accuracy to prevent incorrect production and loss to the company and customer.

    SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

    • General schedule is an M-F assignment. Employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Sitting or standing for extended periods up to 8+-hours.

    • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.

    • Wear PPE when required: Safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection etc.

    • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.

    • Use of various office equipment.
