    Stellant Systems Inc. (Stellant) currently has an opportunity for a senior-level Project Engineer to join our team in the Space nanoMPM® product group at our Torrance, California location. Stellant’s industry leading space Traveling Wave Tubes (TWTs), Electronic Power Conditioners (EPCs), and Microwave Power Modules (MPMs) support a wide variety of spacecraft mission needs, with thousands of units in orbit currently. The Space nanoMPM® is the latest additional to this product line, supporting a new variety of spacecraft currently under development. In this position you will lead production, customer interactions, development and continuous improvement efforts on TWTs, EPCs, Linearizers and nanoMPMs. As a senior-level Project Engineer, you will be responsible for technical support throughout the life cycle of a program, and will be expected to gain in-depth knowledge of the entire nanoMPM® product, specifically the RF chain, as you assimilate into the role. You will lead a variety of technical disciplines to ship production hardware, perform general troubleshooting to in-depth root cause analysis (RCA), develop manufacturing process improvements and design upgrades as needed. Effective coordination between all support groups, including engineering, program management, operations, quality, and vendors will be key. You may support business development and proposals as needed.

    Responsibilities

    + Making high-level Engineering decisions to support the shipment of flight units on schedule.

    + Leading regularly scheduled product-line shipment reviews.

    + Leading investigations of product-line anomalies, including developing root-cause and corrective action (RCCA) powerpoint packages and briefing them to the customer.

    + Leading development and qualification efforts of product line updates and/or qualification of new vendors.

    + Estimating Engineering labor costs for the given product line

    + Providing technical support for yield issues and product modifications.

    + Supporting design reviews for product requirements verification, and generating test plans and procedures.

    + Producing technical reports, explaining objectives, approach, and results.

    + Assisting business capture with technical responses to proposals involving the product line.

    + Engaging with management and project members for product requirement, cost, and schedule issues.

    Qualifications

    + **Specialist:** Minimum of 4 years experience in the supporting a high-value space RF product line.

    + **Senior Specialist:** Minimum of 6 years experience in the supporting a high-value space RF product line.

    + **Lead:** Minimum of 9 years years of experience in the supporting a high-value space RF product line.

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or mathematics is required. Master’s degree preferred.

    + Experience with TWTs, EPCs, MPMs or the systems they support a plus

    + Experience in debugging prototypes and testing analog or RF hardware assemblies.

    + Experience with customer level reviews (like PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR …)

    + Familiarity with RF measurement equipment: signal generators, VNA, PNA, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and power meters.

    + Knowledge in space hardware testing needs (TVAC, shock, vibe, RF) helpful

    + Familiarity with high voltage (4kV to 20kV) and safety practices a plus.

    + Programming knowledge a plus.

    + Must be able to work in a fast-paced production environment under tight schedule constraints.

    + Strong technical writing and effective communication skills are needed.
