Our Vision for this Role
As the Supervisor of Transactional Accounting, you are an accounting professional that is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate month-end close processes across multiple business units. Some responsibilities include the supervision and development of the transactional accountants. You will be assisting the Sr. Manager Transactional Accounting in the review of the month end accruals and reconciliations completed by the transactional accounting team. Other responsibilities include analysis and reconciliation of selected general ledger accounts, preparation and posting of monthly accruals, ensuring the accurate posting of operational and capital expenditures, ensure accuracy of financial projects, identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies, research and resolve accounting issues as they arise, and assist with special projects when necessary.

+ Cultivating, leading, and mentoring a team of professionals, providing guidance, motivation, communication, and holding them accountable.
+ Training accountants in the processes and procedures for the transactional accounting team.
+ Assisting in the review completed monthly recurring entries related to operational activities.
+ Assisting in the review of the completed monthly account reconciliations
+ Assisting in the development and implementation of the transactional accounting team policies and procedures
+ Preparing and post monthly recurring entries related to operational activities.
+ Leading monthly analysis & preparation of work papers supporting select balance sheet accounts across business units as assigned.
+ Leading analysis of COGS accounts to ensure proper and timely posting of invoices, transfers, adjustments, and preparation and processing of accruals as needed.
+ Leading analysis and accruals for invoices and expenses not posted to the ERP prior to close.
+ Reviewing of divisional, admin and operations postings to proper GL accounts.
+ Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures are being adhered to.
+ Collaborating with other F&A departments, operations and other support functions to identify and solution for potential opportunities.
+ Working cross functionally with Financial Accounting & Reporting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Cash & Treasury and FP&A to support month, quarter and year end activities ensuring a timely and accurate close process.
+ Assisting with the year-end audit through work paper preparation supporting balance sheet account balances.
+ Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the department.
+ Supporting the Controller, Sr. Director and Sr. Manager on special projects and analysis as needed.
What You Have
+ Qualified professionals must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting along with 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
+ Having a CPA or MBA is a plus, but not required.
+ You must possess strong analytical as well as audit/research documentation skills.
+ You should have comprehension of the monthly close process
+ You must possess strong Excel skills as well as demonstrated proficiency with general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
+ You must possess good verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
+ Having SAP experience is preferred, but not required.
+ Finally, you should bring an excellent sense of humor to the table – we like to have FUN!
