Senior Accountant

$35/HR DOE

Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM

About:

The Senior Accountant will oversee general accounting operations, controlling and verifying financial and inventory transactions.

Responsibilities:

+ Reconciling account balances, overseeing inventory accuracy, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing month-end close procedures.

+ The ideal candidate should possess excellent analytical skills along with a thorough understanding of accounting principles to analyze financial data, transactions, reports, and forecasts.

Duties:

+ Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory staff and reconciliation process, providing input and recommendations for improvement.

+ Financial Operations: Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable to produce error-free accounting reports.

+ Analysis and Reporting: Analyze financial information, summarize financial status, and present results.

+ Technical Support: Provide technical support and advice on accounting systems and review recommendations for system modifications.

+ Goal Setting and Planning: Participate in departmental goal setting and assist with financial statement and budget preparation.

+ Compliance and Process Development: Ensure compliance with GAAP principles and develop/document business processes to strengthen internal controls.

+ Staff Management: Plan, assign, and review staff work while supporting month-end and year-end close processes.

Qualifications:

+ Education: BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant experience.

+ Experience: Proven experience as an accountant with a strong inventory management background.

+ Skills: Advanced MS Excel proficiency, accuracy, attention to detail, research skills, and quantitative aptitude.

+ Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting and POS software such as GP Dynamics, Plate IQ, Nexternal, Silverware, etc.

+ Attributes: Deadline-oriented, confidential, thorough, and possessing strong analytical and communication skills.
