SUMMARY:
The Physical Production Coordinator supports the overhead department. This department supervises all aspects of animation from development, production, to post production in conjunction with studio executives and operational groups like technology, finance, marketing, publicity, business affairs, legal, facilities and artist management.
Sony Pictures Animation is a pre-production animation studio based in Los Angeles, California, creating both feature animation and animated series with artists from around the world. RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Under guidance of the Executive Director of Physical Production, Global VFX Supervisor, and Pipeline Supervisor, assist in high level Series Production pipeline management.
+ Collaborate with Line Producers and Production Managers across the show slate to develop and maintain workflows for each phase of their production pipelines.
+ Help establish best practices for production assistants and coordinators across shows.
+ Coordinate launches for internal CG Artists including scheduling meetings, compiling project materials, submitting tickets to ensure proper equipment and systems access.
+ Coordinate demos for showcasing new software tools for series production.
+ Take notes during weekly VFX meeting and weekly Physical Production meeting.
+ Create and track milestones/timelines for Core Team’s visual development projects
+ Maintain PC/Parsec account records across series.
+ Import Cargo/Kitbash assets to Maya and publish to server per request of series.
+ Update Asana development tasks for Pipeline Supervisor and Technical Director; actively update tasks during biweekly series technical meeting .
+ Send a weekly technical priorities report to Series Production, listing the highest-ranking priorities and detailing updates to those development tasks.
+ Manage sensitive files and maintain the Production drive for overhead purposes.
+ Gather, research, maintain, distribute documentation and resources.
+ Executive level calendar coverage for Exec Director, VFX Supervisor, and Pipeline Supervisor, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
+ Special projects for studio operational groups as needed.
+ Organize and schedule meetings with internal attendees and external groups.
+ Assist with coordination of in-person meetings including creating guest passes for external attendees, technical checks, prepping conference rooms, arranging lunches
+ Order office supplies for the department as needed.
+ Coordinate travel according to SPE Travel policies.
+ Manage and complete expense reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ BA or BS degree preferred.
+ Previous animation office or production experience.
+ Highly organized, resourceful and diligent with excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
+ Good follow through on projects.
+ Ability to multitask and work well in a fast paced and voluminous deadline oriented department.
+ Willing to take and follow directions.
+ Able to work independently and set appropriate priorities.
+ Take direction when needed and also take the initiative where applicable.
+ Trustworthy and able to maintain a high level of discretion.
+ Ability to work with both in-person and remote groups.
+ Computer and technology literate – familiarity with Mac/PC operating systems, Photoshop, Word, Excel and Google Suite.
+ Eagerness to learn and understand CG technologies relevant to production.
+ Knowledge of Shotgrid is a plus.
The anticipated base salary for this position is $25.00/hour to $31.00/hour. This role may also qualify for incentives and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
